LOL! I didn't recognize them with the paint job, I actually have some myself! I just drybrushed a bit of yellow, white and then a titch of orange and then used the Tamiya Clear Yellow Over the top to seal it a bit...

Minwax Polyshades Tudor (black) is preferred by most; the Minwax Polyshades Royal Walnut (dark brown) gives a nice, dirty finish; solvent-based, takes days top dry, but very effective. This is known as "The Dip" technique. It is best to brush it on, for better control, and less pooling (use the edge of a paper towel to soak up excess pooling, before it dries -- go back, 15 minutes later, and check for pooling, as it does settle, and slowly move down the figure, through gravity's pull).
Otherwise, mix acrylic paint with Future/Klear/Pledge with Future Shine, and paint it on: customizable colors for a shading of whatever color is needed; water based; dries in 15 minutes; designed to be walked upon, wearing shoes -- this stuff is durable! This is known as "Magic Wash", and it is very similar, though not quite the same results, as "The Dip". Cheers!

My overall goal is to paint them up to a "table-top" quality... I do realize there is much more I could do to these, such as edge highlights, and much more but , number one, I have many to paint; number two, I am painting with nerve damage so some techniques are extremely difficult for me to do; number 3, I'm not really too worried about it. I certainly appreciate the views and the comments, so feel free to continue to offer suggestions or thoughts.... Here we have a Flesh Golem.... (I am thinking about going back and adding in some pupils for the eyes. I was going for that milky, pupil-less look but I am not sure I am happy with it) A Drider.... Hunting Spiders... A Yochlol, Hand-Maiden of Lolth.... More to come in the near future.....

They look good! The main thing is, are YOU happy with them! Nothing else matters, but it's also good that you're open to suggestions and constructive criticism!

Yes ! I agree with the minwax suggestion! "The Dip!" is definitely the way to go. Nice tough coat of Poly Urathane and some really nice shading. Mind you it is not going to be "Golden Demon" contest quality but it will be table worthy!

One thing I have noticed is that the camera phone tends to "wash-out" any shading from washes that I have done. They look much better in person than they do in the photos (and it drives me freaking crazy, lol)....
