Started The Necron Paper Monolith (Will go back to the other paper drop pod after this) This Project so for is a pain in the rear. so many hot glue burns, So first I'd like to say thank you to the person who created the template but man there are some changes I have made and plan to make on this project to make life easier, the instructions were some what helpful then appear to be lacking in detail, but again much appreciated as this is saving me and many others lots of money.... The pictures below is how far I got tonight!

Sorry didn't get a chance to work on the monolith today, wife treated me to fried pickles and a smokehouse burger at roadhouse then a shopping trip to barns and noble were I priced out the new dungeon master books and stuff & I can order it cheaper online than in store however they did have a magic the gathering duel deck that I picked up and a Java chip from Starbucks, So I apologize for the delay got a busy weekend ahead so I'll say more work on the monolith by Monday.

Got a lot done today all "armor platting" Added the red balls are what the weapons will mount to, it's just model magic rolled in a ball. Also Swapped out the paper door for a foam core door that I engraved the symbol into. also created a swirling effect with hot glue for the portal and I decided to leave the stairs and door open to awesome to keep close. added the back detail pieces, jewel holder, back and side pylons, and built the jewel...
More To Come!....

Dude, seriously bad ass! I have just been playing Dawn of War: Soul Forge (campaign mode) lately, and have a lot of respect for the destructive power of the Necron Monolith fortress.
And by respect, I mean cold, seething hatred as my Eldar go up in green flames.

Looks great. It must have required alot of patience and immunity to hotglueburns. Amazing what can be done with paper, and some other stuff. How are you going to paint it, without it warping like crazy?

How are you going to paint it, without it warping like crazy? With papercraft projects I Find applying 2 thin coats of a clear sealer works best and prevents warping when painting even helps prevent your dungeon tiles from warping too! not to mention it will seal the paper, edges, & seams!
