I have been plagued with the S shaped packing peanuts and don't want to simply throw them out. I figure I could use them on some sort of project. Any suggestions?
EDIT
Here is a list of suggested ideas for use of Packing Peanuts. Howdy, They make nice hedges/walls. cut them up to break that S shape, stack em' like bricks a couple of layers high. Then flock with some green for hedges, or paint up like stone for walls. I would think that you could break them apart and hot glue them to a base to make rock formations (piles of rocks or walls). You could also break them up finely and use it as rubble or flocking more in the style of DMG. Maybe slather on some green paint, put it on a base and make it a slime.

I believe that Scotty has a video where he used them as some sort of pod/cocoon or larva creature. I have never made anything with them...and I kept a whole bag of them for quite some time before finally getting rid of them. You could also break them up finely and use it as rubble or flocking more in the style of DMG.

Genius! We should compile a list of packing peanut uses.

Maybe it was a video of something similar. And if it doesn't exist, it totally should.

Hmmm, this might be my 2.5D Next cavern system. Put the cut S shapes on foam core to make it less wobbly (or maybe cardboard, though I'm digging foam core).
EDIT: SCORE! I still have a small trash bag full of these things. Was saving them for the off chance I needed to ship something.

I am liking these ideas. I am editing my original post to include peoples ideas. If we could get pictures of some of the other ideas that would be great! Especially in progress pictures.

I used some S shaped peanuts on card stock as rocks. imageshack.com/i/eyt3EmdvjThey also look good as cavern walls, bonded to card stock with caulk. imageshack.com/i/idJJLNY3jimageshack.com/i/ipkOMRwwjI built a cavern tile using S shaped packing peanuts. I cut one side of the peanut flat and glued it a cardboard base, then filled in gaps with caulk. I used a small triangular squeeze tube of caulk and held it like a pastry bag. I ran out of caulk and filled some of the gaps with hot glue. Both worked well. If I do another I will not trim the peanuts, but run a bead of caulk and put the peanuts in it. I gave it a wash of dark brown paint and used coffee grounds to flock the edge at the floor. imageshack.com/i/pcarWtv5j
