Ok, so i came across a lizard man creature action figure that was basically a junk toy. I assume it was a spiderman or similar comic book figure, scaled to about 6 or 7 inches. So, unless my crafting was scaled up alot, it wouldnt have drawn my eye.
But it had this really cool looking head. So i picked it up (free. It was a donation toy that our business picked up but couldnt use due to its condition) and popped off the head.
Now i have this cool, two inch long, one inch wide, green dragon looking head. That i cant think of how i should use it.
Now i could craft a body. Problem is, the detail on the head would require some serious expert crafting to make it match up.
I thought of crafting a hole that i can have it sticking out from. But that seems gimicky.
So here is where i figured i should ask around here for ideas.
And yes, i know pictures would help. No, i have not made peace with technology to that point. So, no luck on photos...

If the mouth of the dragon is open you could make a fountain with water coming out of the mouth. If it is closed you could paint it up like a statue of some sort.

Further you could use it as a statue and a trap! A little obvious perhaps, but it would look pretty cool. Another possibility is to mount it on a length of doweling as some kind of pillar, or icon, or something. Maybe some chains could be added to the dowel, and now you have cool sacrificial post!

You could make some kind of pond and simply place the head in the middle of it - the rest of the dragon is hiding under water. Or if you had a dungeon with lots of magical portals (mirrors, archways, etc...), the dragon could attack the party by simply sticking it's head through and breath on and/or bite them.
Dragons are very intelligent, and such a strategy makes it extremely hard to hit. Actually the only way I see for the party to kill such an enemy is to behead it, either with swords (the calssic way) or by shutting of the portal while the dragon sticks his head through. But I guess a dragon would have thought of such a weakness in it's strategy and has installed some measures to prevent exactly that. It's the player's task to find a countermeasure...
Anaway, used that way you don't need a body for the dragon and can use the head almost as is.

good ideas all. I was also thinking of crafting some sort of magical "Cage" that would hide the body, but leave the head out, shackled with chains. Not sure how I would use that in a game, but it seemed like a possible adventure hook.
If I were to describe the actual age of the Dragon based on the head along, I'd call it an adult Green Dragon, or perhaps the age category below, using other D&D Dragon miniatures as a basis for comparison.
