Is it too late to get into this trading? I'm interested in unique crafting shapes for 28mm D&D terrain. I enjoy making 28 mm furniture, terrain, etc. So unique shaped bits really interest me. Basically looking for cool fantasy stuff scaled for 28-30 mm D&D campaign.
I have boxes of Good Will parts and material bits I can fill a US Priority Mail box (8.5 x 5.5 x 1.5) with stuff. Here is some of the things that will be I the box: plastic animals (horses, cows, bugs ...see my video on making mounts), various sized washers, beads (for potions & stuff) and other "junk".

We'll be moving into the new house in a few months, so I'm in the process of ...realizing that contrary to my signature, I really do have more crafting materials than I'll probably ever can use up. Throwing perfectly good stuff away is not an option, so I want to give the excess away. My idea is to make a bunch of craft packages and send them to whoever wants one. However there's a catch (there always is a catch with free stuff, right?). Shipping fees from Germany to the US (where the majority of our community seems to live) are more expensive than I can afford for more than one or two packages (about 15 €, give or take - probably give), so you'll have to bear those shipping costs yourself. For packages that will be shipped inside Germany, I will bear the cost of shipping myself. My plan is the following: I'll make a list of the stuff that will probably go into the packages. I can't guarantee that everyone gets everything, but at least you'll have a general idea of what will be inside. I hope it will be worth the shipping csts, otherwise this whole thing wouldn't make sense. If you like what you see, give me a private message and we'll figure the rest out via PM: - you give me a your adress, - I print & pay the label online and tell you how much shipping is, - you send me the shipping costs via paypal. - A chock-full package with crafting goodness gets sent your way, and happyness abounds. I know this is different from the regular Insider Trading scheme, but I didn't want to open yet another thread. Wish you all a Merry Christmas!

But then I realized I am poor and don't have $17 for shipping costs

Here's the content of the free package: - lots of weirdly shaped pasta goodness - some handful of miniatures, painted and unpainted, fantasy and scifi, plus... - a bunch of giant crabs, seahorses, a blipdoolpoolp-like mini and one truly giant crab - lotus pods (ideal for tyranid spawn pods, but also great for other critters or as giant funghi (or here) ) - exotic dried fruits (I shared those a while back, see here and here) - a large squid-shaped piece of aquarium decoration - some soft wood-fibre discs (great for discarded gears and other types of machinery) - lots of different rocks and acrylic crystals (ideal for basing decoration) - some of my 'screaming straws' pieces, some of them already based (see here and here) - enough throwaway forks for making your own tentacle maker (you'll have hundreds of pointy ends left for making teeth, claws or icicles) - different types of corrugated plastic tubing - plastic mesh (excellent for pressing into clay/greenstuff to make regular cobblestone texture, or as metal mesh in modern/scifi terrain)
Detail shots: i.imgur.com/vI7EvFD.jpg i.imgur.com/60B9v0q.jpg i.imgur.com/9hWwbxl.jpgi.imgur.com/6CDNFWU.jpgi.imgur.com/a0C7RQ6.jpg...all of that fits in one little box: 27 x 20 x 12 cm, weighting about 1.6 kg (let's say 2 kg for the sake of calculating shipping). If someone knows a very cheap way of shipping from Germany to worldwide, please share - this would benefir the whole Insinder Trading scheme! Honestly I don't know what all that stuff is worth. I tried to include only materials that aren't trivial to get. For example I was told that some folks couldn't get hold of the throaway forks, and who knows which types of pasta are available in your part of the world. Hopefully the use outweights the shipping cost.

I have tons of stuff in my basement that wants to be crafted into awesomeness. If you are looking for something specific, I can have a look for something that fits your needs.
I live near Mosbach, Germany.
Cheers,
Patrick

I live near Mosbach, Germany. Cheers, Patrick I have tons of stuff myself, both in the crafting corner and in the workshop. Small mountains actually. Also, I usually don't look for specific stuff: I usually see some random stuff and the idea jumps at me what to craft out of it. So if you would have a couple of fotos of those tons of stuff, I might find something I like. Since nobody wanted my craft box so far, I could send it to you as a thank you. Honestly I have to get rid of some of my stuff, and with swapping boxes, I would at least be more or less even.... Let's wait for a week. If nobody else is interested in your offer, let's swap craft boxes. As said before, I don't really need more materials, so I'd be happy to let others with less stuff chose first.

I think I have enough stuff to send several boxes (as long as the shipping costs don't kill me). I'll shoot some photos this week. chiefsgtbradley If you nickname is a job description, then I guess you could give us some advice on how to ship stuff to the US...

This is slightly off topic, but we don't have a general 'For Sale' thread so far, so I just dump it here... I decided to part with the two huge sets of Dwarven Forge cavern terrain I got for less than half of its commercial price a while back (for details, see here). The reason is that while this stuff is absolutely beautiful (I wouldn't be able to make terrain with such quality myself!), it's just not my group's style of playing. Plus, it takes up too much storage and I'll be moving to the new house soon, so I try to get rid of stuff I don't absolutely need. I had the idea of making silicone moulds of the pieces and cast some stuff to use in my own projects, but that fizzled out after three moulds (which turned out great but I simply didn't feel like casting anymore). Right now there's a discussion about 3D printing similar terrain pieces (see here)... Depending on your chioce of material, casting them might be a bit more expensive (you can't really beat the material cost of a few grams of that stuff!), but casting is much quicker after you made the mould. You can use all sorts of clay, hotglue, paper maché, cement or whatever material you have at hand. Heck, you could even pour chocolate in and make cavern wa---shaped gifts! ...or you use the two sets simply as is on your game table. I got lucky and grabbed both sets for 100€. After a quick search on ebay, these sets seem to trade for 170-250$ - each. I don't want to make profit with them, just get them into the hands of someone who uses them in play. So for 100€ plus shipping, you'll get both sets.

I'd have to measure & weight the boxes, then either check online for shipping costs to the US or better, post the measurements here so that everyone can check themselves, as I don't really have the time to ask for shipping quotes for each country.

I am still sitting on a box of stuff for Sleepy Hollow Mike I think I'm gonna hafta break it down in into smaller boxes 'cuz USPS has an upper limit on package size I've also been cleaning out my mom's house since she passed away, and she had a TON of crafting stuff I need to go through. Does anyone need paint? OMG she had a ton of cheap paints. I can't promise they are any good but I already have more than I need. Not really sure what I am looking for in trade... unless someone has a bunch of Marvel Hero clix they are willing to part with (I've been thinking of running a campaign that is an Alternate Marvel Universe). I need to see what I have and what I need...

tauster , bluecloud2k2 I still haven't made up my mind what to put into your boxes. What are your current projects? I'm interested in stuff I can use for - my Dwarven Forge project, i.e. designs that look like dwarven machinery (lots examples in the thread) or masonry ( example in the 1st picture) - stuff that looks organic, like grown architecture (see here for setting explanation and here, here and here for related projects) If you've got nothing like that, I take whatever you throw my way. That's part of the fun of the craft boxes: You never know what you get, but it's always damn cool stuff!
