I have an Insider Trading request: I occasionally do pewter casting. I would like to ask everyone to save any pewter flashing that they cut off of their pewter minis. I can melt it down and cast new objects with it. Every little bit helps. I think this is also the kind of thing that could be sent in a normal envelope with a single stamp. This is the kind of flashing that I am talking about. Thanks everyone!  What is considered a good price per ounce or pound for pewter? I'll keep an eye out for you. I have a few scraps now, once I get a bit more I'll be sure to send it your way. |

^ Thanks! Like other metals on the commodities market, pewter can fluctuate dramatically. Right now it is about $20USD a pound retail. From a manufacturing facility like a smelter it can be obtained for $12-$16USD a pound depending on the tonnage ordered. Anything below $10 a pound is a fantastic price.
If anyone is a Pewter Baron or knows one, please let me know.

what about the "add on" weights for the boy scout pinewood derby cars...should be just what you need, fairly cheap, check your local walmart, crafting stores  That is the kind of thinking that makes this place so great. Unfortunately, I believe that these are no longer pewter. I think they have changed them to zinc. I will check the back of the package, the next time I see them to be sure. oh, that suks, was just ready to send you some out, let me know what you dig up, I unfortunately discarded all the packaging that mine came in...I was tasked to build a MACH 5 for my boss's son, and yeah, boss said that, " it better win" a truly stressful time in my life lol glad those days are gone |

Do me a favor: can you bend it with your hands (or even two pairs of pliers)? Does it mush up easily if you hit it with a hammer? Is it magnetic? |

I know you can get all the bits online for kit bashing and stuff, but if anyone happens to have extras lying around I have a package of random goodies to trade :-)

Doing a ruined armory with a custom iron golem....mostly need weapons and shield for 28mm.....if I could find some oversized stuff for the golem that would be great
