Hey guys, just checking in, received the package from Mr Dragon722, and a huge THANK YOU to you sir...
Full of little goodies, and a bunch of minis, just waiting to be properly modded, lol
I have already begun building a sci-fi'ish land rover of sorts, started building it around 12 last night, piccies to follow or maybe a video (dragged all my old ghost busting equipment out of its happily stored location) now I just have to remember how to use it all, lol
btw I have no good video editors yet, so it will be a one shot run, coming soon

poopy video here I think this is the best example of what tauster and I had in mind for this parcel sharing thing. You got a package, and it's contents took you somewhere you had no idea you wanted to go. I love everything about it. In fact, I've got some sci-fi-ish bits I'd like to send you to further encourage this new direction you are taking. This video has also inspired me to show some of the things I've been toying around with that I receive from fellow crafters. Most are still WIPs, but I think it's important to share the journey (or rabbit hole.) Tauster sent me some plant pods and a couple alien terrain pieces made from soda straws (far left). I immediately set off to turn the plant pods into giant plants (or plant creatures). I also loved the look of the alien terrain straws, including the paint job. To me, they looked like some sort of rare tree bark plant. The only think I knew was, two would not be enough. So I made some grouping of them. Then I just had to go out and get some of the big soda straws so I could make some 'parent' plants. I think these will become some sort of quest item... like "you must collect a piece of petrified bark from an ancient stone tree that only resides in deepest recesses of the underdark." The figure pictured was an Ancient One heroclix that Dragon722 send me. I have begun an alteration to change him into a djinni. Anywho, I just wanted to say that I really like what I see going on here in this thread. I hope more will join the ranks.

curufin, how did you do the stringy texture on your 'parent straws'? I like your 'petrified tree bark' idea! Btw, here's another way to look at them: Imagine a network of tunnels in the Underdark with extremely strong winds. A network so large and labyrintine that you can spend weeks spelunking there - and that's even without getting lost. The piping winds will saw on the nerves of the party, even the hardiest dwarf will finally get thinn-skinned.
And then, during one of the rare calm times, they arrive in a cavern with these ...growths. The cavern is a Farzress hotspot (or an even more crippling magical Underdark radiation), and the plants have mutated over the centuries. If, and only IF there is an underdark druid or someone with nature skills in the party, they will recognize the mutation, otherwise it's just another weird Underdark growth. If your players are really immersing themselves in the situation and the mood, they will be glad to have found a save place to rest.
During second watch (always during second watch! *g*) the winds will pick up again, and now the plants don't only look like they're screaming, they are screaming. In ways that make an asylum with inmates on steroids (or whatever drugs make you agressive) sound peaceful. Get cruel. Find some bad-sounding background noise on youtube. Make the PCs ears actually bleed. Let them make increasingly difficult Willpower checks with failure meaning that they direct their agression against each other.
And then, let the deaf monsters attack!
...anyway, that is what I have in store for my party.

I just sent off a package to Draklith, to help out with his sci-fi crafting. Enjoy, Buddy! I also sent out some sculpting stuff to a person not on the Insider Trading list. Maybe it will pull them in.
I was thinking about our talk about getting some stuff out to Scotty, DMG, and AJ, as a thank you for all the hard work they have done. I will be attending this years Origins Game Fair, and I think Scotty mentioned he would be going as well. I could put some stuff together just hand them off. That would save on shipping as well. If AJ hates making dungeon dressings like furniture, then that might be the perfect thing to send off. Shipping stuff out to DMG and AJ will be a bit more... we might want to do some theoretical shipping calculating to see what it would cost and who can ship the cheapest. It might be better to do collaborative works or maybe ship in stages. Just thoughts...

Super big thanks goes out to Mr MichaelJohns for his cool box of little goodies So after getting the armory up and posted in time for the contest, I dug around the two packages I just received and was instantly motivated to build this...
All I added was the Styrofoam insert piece from a humidifier(I think), two old cans of soup, and styroboard base...
now who wants to paint it?
