Thanks, I played HeroQuest a lot when I was a kid. You're never too old to play HeroQuest! Zombie

Is there a new hero quest? I haven't played since the old boardgame.

No... and sort of yes... For now there is no new HeroQuest, it's the old version, which I bought off eBay (for a pretty penny I can tell you as they are quite expensive). But there was a 25th anniversary edition on Kickstart quite some time ago but was cancelled due to copyright reasons (although I think it's still going ahead in Spain). There is a HeroQuest "variant" coming called Dungeon Saga which was a (now ended) kickstarter (which I backed) Although not HeroQuest it does use the same sort of mechanics of a party of adventures and a DM trying to kill them off, complete with dungeon furniture & monster cards.

Well shit I'm going to see if I can't buy it off my friend then. They had a bunch of modules with them too. Maybe spark some dungeon ideas. Thanks.

I have a friend who has HeroQuest stuck in his loft as he doesn't play 'kids games' any longer but he won't part with it as I've asked to buy it off him many times.

Yeah his brothers bought the game when they were kids so I may run into the same issue as you haha. Maybe I could at least borrow his figures to mold them.

when i asked the store if they had a hero quest like board game, i got the answer i kinda wanted... Descent ! he said thats pretty much the closest you will find to heroquest.
basically, heroquest is the game that started all these boardgames of adventuring parties. real basic, real fun and real easy to play while giving you challenges. not to mention the miniatures who are just awesome. will you paint the fumir ? can't wait to see the gargoyle or the chaos warriors.

HQ is what started it all for me. Played it for a few years, then WHQ, then 2nd Edition. Down to about 9 minis to paint myself.

You could always make your own HQ game. You can get rules and cards at: www.yeoldeinn.com/ Then you just need to craft up your own board, doors, and furniture (if you don't already have them).

What colour do you think I should paint the gargoyle? Just painting it a gray stone colour just seems a bit bland. This is an image of the internet, unpainted, I haven't painted it like that! Oh, and mine is missing it's wings.

you could go dmscotties rock colors. that could give it some much needed variation as well. i think as long as its not one single color with shading, i think the gargoyle can live with it.

I had a chance to get Heroquest for a decent price ($40 CAD) but missed out. Still regret that almost as much as missing out on Descent 1st ed for $30
