I built up a strong base using a cd sandwiched between two pieces of carboard and then floral wire to form the inner core of his body. The basic body shape is constructed up with toilet paper tubes, crumpled up paper inside, hot blue, and PVA glue.
I did the teeth, claws, and face with air dry clay. This was my first use of air dry clay, but as I can now tell you, PVA glue works really well with fixing any cracks or broken off pieces.
It also does wonders in strengthening clay pieces (don't use superglue on clay, it hardly bonds). Over the inner structure, I layered up PVA glue and toilet paper, as per the usual Scotty-Approved method.
For the details and scales, I hot glued on super thin cardboard after the toilet paper had dried into a hard shell. I added masking tape around the sides of the cardboard to hide the corrugation then secured it down with PVA glue. More practice doing this would probably have me leaving fewer bumps along the edge.
The eyes were small drops of hot glue on parchment paper that I PVA'd on to his clay face.
The paint job was a base coat of black. For the skin, I did a blue-purple mix with a drybrush coat containing some additional white. The scales were a blue-green-grey mix highlighted with a grey-green. His back skin was a dark green with a lighter green drybrush. Tooth, tusk, and claw were based in white, with two different drybrushes of ivory and white-beige. His back spikes are a grey-red highlighted with a drybrush of a lighter grey-red. Finally, I painted his base to be similar in style to his lair in LoL.
