Hi All, i just joined the Forum after following DM Scotty on youtube for a few months now, crafted a few things so thought i would share something. I used this in an Encounter were my players had to cross a Long Narrow Bridge over a Pit filled with Strange Flowers, the Bridge was trapped and started to rotate when two people were on it (weight trap) , the Flowers were a Type of Black Lotus Secreting a powerful Toxin was very entertaining.....for me. Any way here are the flowers, Brought them from the craft shop for a couple of $ and brought a plastic plant for an Aquarium. Attachment Deleted

Totally stealing that idea. Great looking terrain, my players would be highly suspicious of those as soon as they laid eyes on them.

If I were you (which I'm not) I'd buy a few extra, and make a few that were benign. Create an environment that SEEMS safe. Perhaps add a few brief encounters with similar flowers that were easy or obvious to pass to add suspense. If they find a flower that is similar (but objectively different) that is easy to pass, it could give the players a sense of security, but give you a reason to go a little further with the severity of the presence of the flowers.
That being said, I really like this idea. Dangerous flowers seems like such an obvious and yet subtle concept that it may terrify my players. I think I may take this idea. I love it. Brilliant, if I might say. Perhaps a few sentient vines might make for a more intense encounter. Let me know how the encounter with your players pans out. ^_^

Encounter went extremely well, i had a Mist that stung the Eyes just to make it harder (and Meaner), one of the Players used his boots of Jumping and Striding to jump to the middle and spring to the other side, he passed all checks crazily. that being said it gave false hope to the others and they started to file across. One was towards the Middle when it started to turn and fell off to his death. One other fell in but survived. The Mage....well he just flew across, time to make trap just for him i think.
