I came up with a larger structure because I wanted to see if my 'stacked cardboard' method works. Result: It works, but for smaller structures like your walls it's probably not worthwhile. Your painted walls look great! I love that orange-brown color scheme, gives them a 'rusty water' feeling.

Those look really awesome. Nice work tauster. When I get my mats I'm not sure how to paint them up yet. Any ideas?

Chosing colors was never my strong side... *rolls eyes* I thought I just look what you come up with and copy that get inspiration from you.

I've yet to work with any of the cork mats. I'm not sure what anyone else uses but information would help. This is my first attempt at anything 2.5 next so any pointers are appreciated.

Created some walls , tryed using pipe cleaners to make the structure. hot glue doesn't stick well to them to say the least. but i got decent results.
about 4 sticks of glue to cover up a 3 inch long wall and about 7 for a 6 inch long. i'm now out of glue sticks though. so i'll have to buy me some more.
really a fan of making the structure first instead of multiple layer of glue. but i recommend the high temp glue gun and the big ones too. letting gravity do its job is also a nice way of doing the thing.

That seems like quite a bit of glue but I'd like to see the results feel free to post all ideas here.

Once you've got your vertical pillars made, attaching some wire or string between them might make connecting the arch go faster. Just a thought.

I usually do the connecting piece in one shot taking a min or two. Its actually the easiest part to do considering the size of the stream of glue dries rather quick.

Heres what i made, not finished the last 3 and i need to do the next 6 3 inches. but, heres without glue. Heres all of them... heres a closer look. heres the close up. my biggest concern is the coloring... i used DMG method. but it looks more like wood then sands and stones. so i was wondering how you did your coloring ? PS: ditch the pipe cleaners. use strings of metal instead. the glue doesn't stick on pipe cleaners and so is the paint. but some structuring does work. also, try and not leave any wisps going. though that may make it look like a root and that may give you a good detail. but yeah try and not leave too much wisps !

Dude those look great! Almost like in a cave under some forest. I like the root-ish looking pieces. Dark brown and black mix base coat then lighten with brown white and a bright red is what I used just adding more white on the next two layers.

Adding a glossy clear coat at the end helps give it that wet limestone look, assuming you want drippy caverns. If you've got stalagmites, you need water to form them.

I must agree, i did me some 2.5d next cavern walls with his method and i will say that grey red purpleish really makes it looks like caverns.

Well, the purplish tint in my pictures comes from the bad lighting (pics taken either under a neon light or besides a window with cloudy weather outside). But anyways, it's my favourite method of painting cavern walls. Or at least sediment rock.
