Just started painting and wanted to share my progression as I paint more minis. The first is Tillah the Human Paladin. I left her eyes white because she's filled with so much holy power.

This is a fantastic start! It's actually even a great intermediary piece. The fact that you were able to paint her eyes white while still leaving the black border shows that you have excellent brush-control (which a lot of beginning painters lack).
It looks like you did some drybrushing on her tabbard, but the picture makes it a little hard to tell the detail. But I totally understand that taking pictures of your miniatures (especially when using a camera phone) is really tough. I also really like the wash (or drybrushing) on the armor - the dark recesses really make the individual plates stand out nicely. I think that you should do some drybrushing on her hair (hard to tell if there is any already or not) and definitely decorate that base!

Thank you, the base is next for sure. Waiting for the right idea. The tabard is much lighter on the folds but the picture quality is lacking. Her hair has a nice bright pink white mix dry brushed on as well.

Good deal. Yeah, I am constantly frustrated when taking pictures of my projects with my phone. It always diminishes the quality of what the actual thing looks like. It's just too darn easy for snapping/posting to not use though.
As for the base (if you are open to suggestions by a total stranger on the internet) - cobblestones look fantastic and make a lot of sense for a paladin, as they would likely spend quite a lot of time within the confines of a city. Likewise... an idea I have tried a few times (though I haven't finalized the painting on any of them yet) is to glue down a layer of tiny square glitter, laid flat, and then painted to look like mosaic flooring. That way you could do something really cool like her deity's holy symbol or family crest or whatnot. Another thing that I have done, though it took a lot of work, was to layer in PVA glue until the base was flat and fairly smooth. I then painted it to look like marble and put a gloss on it to make it looked polished.

I think I'm going with he stone floor idea. I'm going to try and make some thin bricks with gray sculpty cook them then glue them on.

I really like that idea. I'm going to give it a shot tonight if I have the time.

Looks good! How did you get those shapes in the hotglue walls (in particular, the kind of 'trumpeted' flared-out pieces)?
And are those dice over-sized, or it just the angle of the glass?

I taped the outside of the base and used a syringe to inject the paint along the outside edge. I have a clip that holds my figures when I paint them, I clipped the base in and set it in front of the fan to speed dry the paint. I removed the tape after it dried and it left the ripples. And the dice are normal sized.

I kept this guy simple. I like the way the shading turned out. Going to do the base this week. This will be my character in the new campaign I'm working on.

I think I'm going with he stone floor idea. I'm going to try and make some thin bricks with gray sculpty cook them then glue them on. An easy method for doing stone floors isn't sculpy, but stop at a hardware store and grab some of the plaster for patching walls. Tape the sides of the base and add a thin layer of plaster. Then use an unfolded paperclip to create the individual stones. Let it dry and a light sanding to remove any leftover fingerprints and it looks really good.

Not sure the scale size but 2mm or 6mm custom mech bot. Going to work on this paint job. I like the detail that came through on the shoulder and the face. Gunless for now.

Here's a teaser for you guys. I've got two big projects just about finished. One big scene and one giant creature should be done by the end of the weekend.

Wow, that mini looks great! It has an incredibly dynamic pose.
Looks like it could be either Mass Effect or Destiny inspired... what company/line is that from?!
