Hello all!
I've been playing tabletop rpgs for the extensive period of...2 years. However, I've been crafting and art-ing in general for much longer!
I've just recently considered DMing, and I've been quite indecisive of how to go about it. I'm a very visual person, so oral descriptions don't work. Using online tables (Such as Roll20), as great as they are, often lack the excitement for me, and players tend to get distracted. Printing grids wastes a lot of paper. I always considered 3d tabletop stuff to be an extremely expensive hobby, with hundreds of dollars being used just for one little dungeon. I thought people must be crazy to do it. And that's when I found the videos and this forum. ((And maybe it is still a little crazy, making shelves out of popsicle sticks and beasts out of tubes, but boy do I LOVE it.))
So I think stalking this forum has successfully converted me!
Of course I happened to get really into this at a very inconvenient time (I move out tomorrow morning. Oops!) butI can still gather inspiration and ideas (As well as gather boxes and cardboard!)! And I hope that when I'm ready to start crafting, I can share all my beginner messes and mistakes and learn for the better!

Best thing about moving is all the boxes that are left over. Welcome to the forum! If you have any questions just ask. Everyone here is pretty friendly and helpful.

Thank you for all the welcomes! This is certainly one of the warmest forum welcomes I've received
My wondrous market stand will have to wait - I'm afraid I can't share any of my stuff, as I don't have it with me now! (But I'll certainly be working on it)

Thank you! I have a few newbie questions though... 1.) Where can I view the old forum? I'd like to read archived threads for further inspiration! 2.) A quick google search has told me what Green Stuff is (Prior to that, the only "green stuff" I was familiar with was this), however I am not familiar with it at all. It doesn't seem like a beginner's material - but I'm not exactly new to sculpting, just sculpting for D&D! I'd like to know about it first. - Price (is it expensive in small amounts? Large amounts? I've mostly used Sculpey (which I've learned is a bit too brittle for minis), how does it compare?)
- Where on this planet can I find it? (Sadly, hobby shops don't survive around here for long. I've got Micheals and Jo-Ann's though. Online is an option)
- What is it best used for? (I've read so far that it works well with molding; however, I am yet to try molds. Besides being a less fragile material than sculpey, how is it better?)

Green stuff is great for making mods to minis and a lot of people use it. It is a 2 part epoxy, that you can handle fairly easily, but if you are going to use it, make sure you wet your fingers with water, otherwise it will stick to your fingers. You can get it online from a number of different places, but of course, you'll have to pay shipping, which will increase the cost. Also, you can buy it in small or large amounts, I would suggest a small amount to start with. I've never used Sculpey, but green stuff doesn't seem brittle to me. I've seen people use it for all kinds of things, from making weapons to clothing for figures! I'd do a Youtube search for green stuff sculpting tutorials! Below is a link for it on Amazon... www.amazon.com/Green-Stuff-Yellow-Epoxy-Putty/dp/B002MB61RQ

Hi! Damn is it ok to say hello before I've said hello myself? Anyway for greenstuff add kneadatite to your searches as well, same stuff but cheaper.
