I originally wanted to write that I absolutely love the beholder, but the kraken is also great and the purple worm too. So I end up loving all of that stuff... But since I still have an unfinished beholder waiting on my desk, this is especially interesting for me, as I have yet to paint the entral eye... *sigh* BtW: The skull-monster in the foreground of this picture... Is that a Gambado from the Forgotten Realms setting?

Sweet! Very nice work on all three... And your stiff is easily as good as any of the work others do on here and don't let anyone tell you different!

That beholder is sweet. Like the other 2 as well.

That Kraken reminds me of that scene in LotR, where someone throws a rock into the pool, outside the mountain entrance, at night... What a rookie mistake that was! (As a DM, I would be all over that like Ahtlete's Foot on an Orc's hands... Don't ask!) This looks very much like the creature that rose to the surface! I like it, I like all of them. I, too, am working on Beholders, but mine are more comical, in contrast, and ridiculously simple to build, thus far, using styrofoam balls. I have run into some challenges, which I am still working on, but I hope to get them completed in the next month, maybe two -- I have a lot of projects in the works, and some of them have deadlines I am trying to meet. Cheers!

Tauster: Thats just a skull on a cairn pile (I flat out make everything I see DmScotty do, the Kraken and beholder the only real ones that had no video previously for.) Sgtslag: That beholder is a styrofoam ball with flexible modeling paste. Also the kraken's base fit a small pond inside a kobold cave and maybe I play too many MMOs (or too much of WOW) but to me in my games if the monster is there its there which led to a HUGE splitting the party discussion when one intrepid adventure completely LoS(ed) a healer and out ranged him chasing the kobold shaman right into the waiting arms of that kraken.

Cool. Now I'm inspired to make a beholder.

I think my gaming group may need to fend off a kraken in the near future. Mini kraken + tentacle miniatures, seems like a good time to me!

Had a little time today and wanted to play with some aluminum foil. Drying it now might get to paint tomorrow. m.imgur.com/a/seure

So has anyone figured out how to keep thin paperstock from warping out of control when using a lot of watered glue and tp?

So has anyone figured out how to keep thin paperstock from warping out of control when using a lot of watered glue and tp? I haven't, and I'm having the same problem at the moment... Maybe if you 'seal' the cardstock with acrylic varnish before applying any other color and/or glue or wet TP? before

My 6month old decided I should be up at 4am this morning and then he went back to sleep at 5, which left me unable to sleep. So I base painted the head but the warping is pretty bad. It will still be usable but Id like to get it to not be that way next time. My thought was to (translating it to this project) construct everything on regular paper, like Scotty's big rock video and THEN put them on cardstock. Then you would only have to do 1 or two "lumps" as needed and hopefully save yourself from the majority of the warping.
