So here are my creepy-crawlies and I have already base-painted them black, but don't know where to go from there. These will be forest dwelling creepy-crawlies, if that helps. My game is tomorrow, sooo...Help? Any suggestions would be appreciated as I am drawing blanks!

May I suggest looking up real bugs and critters on google images? Natural animals are beautiful already. Just copy their colouring patterns.
For stingers and the like (fangs etc), putting a dab of red or purple on the tips really amps up the menace. Add spikes, mandibles or unusual antennae for added interest or menace.

You could also use the original color as inspiration, just mix up a darker, dirtier, nastier shade of whatever each critter was to begin with.
If it was a red frog, make it dark red... then add brighter red spots, etc.

total assembly and paint time 20 min pr spider. (cutting out, removing studs, basing, flocking, paintwash, drybrushing etc.): Drybrush your flies and centipede with medium grey. Make some highlights around the joints. That is what I did with the spiders; it took me 2 minutes per spider. After another couple of minutes and they are dry enough to play with. Be careful not to overdo it.

Holy cow! How'd you do the skulls? I didn't. These are your standard Games Workshop Forest Goblin Spider Riders. They come with skulls modelled into the body. All I did was paint them in bleached bone and gave them some ink to cover the sloppy paint job.

Obviously, I'm not familiar with GW's line

Have a few done, will post them when I have some more finished. I'm using a lot of metallic and opalescent colors, I hope they show up in the pics. I haven't based any of them, yet, waiting on inspiration to strike. Besides some of them look fine without a base.

Done with my Creepy-Crawlies. Based a few that needed it and left the rest as is. I will post them in the galleries. I will also post pics of some trees I made.
