This is quite a simple trap, but it lures the players in because it resembles a puzzle... A heavy stone door is locked and is difficult to open. Once unlocked the door is stuck fast and needs to be pushed open with a big strength check. Slightly warmer stale air wheezes out and the smell of age fills their nostrils. The room is square, about 30' x 30', and completely empty. There are no other doors. A basic floor, walls and ceiling. If they search successfully they find a trigger plate in the opposite corner from the doorway. When they push the trigger plate the door closes very slowly and forms an air tight seal. There is a slow grinding sound and clunking. The room pressurises and the door cannot be opened. The rear of the door has no handles, locks or any other way of opening it from the inside. It creates an airtight seal. The key components are the room being completely empty, the trigger mechanism, the door closing very slowly and the slow grinding clunk sounds. Anyone on the outside can open the door, but it becomes stuck again when it closes and re-locks. Characters stuck inside the room eventually run out of air. Curiosity kills the characters. The characters having time to escape because the door closes so slowly is the fiendish part of this. The clunking noise from outside could be misconstrued as an opening doorway, a descending staircase, etc. Slow and obvious, but lots of mind bending fun
