I promise I'll lay off posting new things every 12 hours, I need a break from crafting. Todays .99 Store craft project is..... road tiles. I used DM Scotty's "making roads" video and made one modification. Instead of just painting the paper and using it as the roads, I glued the paper on top of non slip drawer liner. It won't move, it's a little more rigid, and I'm sure it'll hold up to years of use. I learned by trial and error the quickest way to achieve my results, here they are. 1. cut out all your road shapes. I made a T, a curve, two straights and a road end. I don't think I'll need more than that. 2. unroll your drawer liner, spray the backs of all your paper pieces with Super 77 and arrange them on the sheet of liner. 3. paint everything while it's all in one big sheet. 4. cut out your shapes 5. draw in pencil grid (for those of us that play grid) Total cost $1.98 Thanks DM Scotty, I never would have thought of making a stone road stamp on my own.

I like. Nice how some of the stones get washed out by the mud Not sure how this would work on a your road tiles but might be able to adapt it from a modern road tile I saw a video on. Run two pieces of masking tape (for wagon wheel maybe 1/4 in apart) and dry brush some darker color to simulate wheel ruts. I have no clue if it would detract or enhance the look. Just thought I would throw it out there if you wanted to experiment. I saw someone do it for the white lines on asphalt. Might be a bugger on the curved spots....

I created some terrain pieces to complement my roads. They are made vinyl grass and .99 Store drawer liner. I sandwiched tree armature bases and 3/8" washers between the layers.

F@#%^& Awesome trees and layout. Did u make those trees? They push into the bases? Thats a cool idea so u could always change the trees and appearance of the tile

Thats a cool idea so u could always change the trees and appearance of the tile I can't take credit for the tree idea, it's from a DM Scotty video on terrain. I just took his idea and swapped it from cardboard to vinyl and liner mat. The trees were purchased from my local hobby store or can be purchased from Amazon, search for "tree armatures." Make sure you watch Scotty's video to learn how to make them look good. On my first attempt I glued the tree base on top of the grass and then thought "wtf, they'd be way better poking through the grass." I'm still working on bending the armatures and adding the green, it's tough to make them look good. Yes, they make for versatile game pieces, I can add or subtract trees as needed.
