Evard's Black Tentacles, a classic D&D spell that causes ink black tentacles to sprout out of the ground, grabbing, choking and crushing victims in their shadowy grasp. This is just a super easy sculpt using two part "grey stuff" epoxy putty and some printed off card stock for a base (so they blend perfectly with the floor tile), the trick with the tentacles was to let them set hanging upside down, so that they kept that nice upright and reaching look to them (otherwise they tend to droop or are difficult to prop up just how you want them to). A simple coat of black paint, hot glue them to the base, and you are good to go. I think a minimum of six is sufficient to give the impression of a decent area of effect.

Nice!!! Thanks for the quickie tutorial, and the photo's... Love that spell, have been wanting to create some tentacles for displaying it, as they stick around for quite a while, and they will grab anyone/anything that comes within their reach, so they do post a threat to everyone, including the caster. Love it! Thanks, AJ. Cheers!

Great looking tentacles! Thanks for posting how you made them! I had a character that would cast that quite often in one campaign, if I was still playing that character, I'd have to make a set of my own!
