I've watched several videos on making columns but I was wondering if anyone would know how to do Asian themed columns, more specifically something ancient Chinese. I have a board game I would like to use them in. The game has 2 separate boards to play on but I was thinking of making a platform raised by 4 columns and having one board on top and one below. I'm not sure exactly what such a thing would look like though.

If the columns are really short, mostly as a base for the platform, you could also use Chinese foo dogs instead of columns. I've got some small ones (1/2" long) that were beads. I'm sure google could find you some more.
You could also go with plain columns, but add lattice between them. An easy way to make lattice is to use the green plastic baskets that strawberries come in, or the plastic grid sheeting used for cross stitch (I think that's what it's for - check the craft store by the yarn).
