(Added more pics to the bottom. I clear coated it with gloss sealer so it looks wet/slimy and put him on a dungeon tile with a small party.) The Otyugh is my favorite monster in DnD. To me it is just too strange. A perfect monster. Do you watch the eye tentacle or the mouth? The stench... I dont have a Otyugh miniature so I thought I would make one. Here is how it turned out. (The pictures are not high quality. I used my phone to take the pictures. I will post better ones asap.) This is the tin foil skeleton I used. Then I added some oven bake clay to bulk it up. Added the teeth and smoothed it all out. Here he is all painted and next to a DnD Bard mini to see scale. I was going for an Underdark feel with the paint job. The barbs on the arm tentacles and the eyes on the central one are done in a gunmetal metallic (the pupils arent that big, its a glare from my phone.) Thanks for looking, guys. Happy crafting.

Cool beast... keep up the good work! Thank you vestrivan! I am thinking about making young otyugh. There isnt an official miniature for it and it would be cool to just a few sessions that have a group of humanoids breeding Otyugh. I'm about to start a Neverwinter Campaign. This will probably come into play when they go to investigate livestock, supplies and people going missing (all food for the Otyugh farm). The party will head into the sewers after getting a few leads and.... BAM! Otyugh army of different breeds.

Alright, tracked it down. DM Brad may have posted it somewhere on the new forum, but I couldn't find it. Here's the archived thread from the old one. Really cool to see two different, and equally awesome, interpretations of the same creature. dmscraft.freeforums.net/thread/1236/semi-homemade-otyugh

DM Brad's is way more angry and aggressive looking than mine! I can picture it in my head. A rank old cave system. The adventuring party rounds a corner where there was a cave-in. They squeeze through the tiny spaces in the wall of the cave. They're in a muddy opening. Condensation and leaks from the pond above them trickling down the walls. They go to cross over the mud and DM Brad's Otyugh erupts out of the muck! Desperate with starvation ,since the cave-in cut off its food supply and its escape, the beast attacks head on with no reserve. Thats what I get from it at least. lol I like it a lot. Neat use of materials as well.

What sculpting medium did you use? Also I find natural light helps with photo quality.

Thanks for the lighting tip. You cant see all the details and textures on the Otyugh because the camera just cant pick it up.
