I'm not sure how many people are aware of this but generally hot glue will not stick to silicon. What this allows is for you to build things in hot glue on silicone and than peal it off. Currently I'm using this to make some spider webs. I'm using the general system for web templates that DMScotty used in his video but instead of building it on the cardboard I made it on the silicone. It peals right off but also lets you see the board below it through the cracks.
For the silicon itself I just bout a silicon oven mitten. The inside is smoothe while the outside is textured. I simply cut up the seams of the mit to lay it flat and built atop it. Its great way to build something with hotglue and have as an open template or whatever without having to put it on a base if you don't want to.

I know a lot of adhesives have a hard time sticking to PVC.... but it might be a PitA to peel off it.
But this gives me a idea I might need to try. This sinus infection better clear up before the weekend I have crafting to do!

Neat technique! Another thing Hot Glue won't stick to (which is how I made my spider webs out of it), is Parchment Paper, from the grocery store baking aisle. It comes right off, when cool. Acrylic paint will flake off of this stuff, as well. Thanks for sharing another way to do the deed. Cheers!

If you have a kitchen & restaurant supply store nearby, there's a product called Silpat. It's a sheet of silicone about 11"x17". Runs around $25US.
