After the battle, only the nethermancer felt like exploring so he went ahead and discovered a cable car that could be powered with magical threads. But a strange creature was disturbed from its nest so the party decided to back off and try to recuperate first. They went back to the waterfall and camped there, eventually they discovered a passageway that was covered by illusion. Inside the whole entrance was covered with magical runes that prevented bloodthirsty Horrors to pass through. Another set of runes healed any namegiver that passed over them. Thus healed up, the heroes braved the road ahead and entered the passageway with the cable car. The shadowmants, disturbed in their nests, vent to defend their territory. After a couple of them was defeated, the rest fled. At the end of the corridor was a bronze door that led to a great chamber. It was lined with rune covered mirrors and in the middle of the room was a strange obsidian obelisk. After the party started casting spells, awakened with the power of magic, the entrance door shut close. The mirrors started shimmering and soon strange terracotta warriors stepped out of the mirrors. Fighting the enemy, the party soon discovered the futility of the conflict, as soon as the first defeated terracotta warrior got replaced with another from the mirror. And since the mirrors proved i ndistructable, they turned their weapons on the obelisk which proved to be the source of power for the warriors. The obelisk destroyed, the warriors were stopped in their tracks. Soon they discovered that an illusion was hiding another door which led to a smaller room. In the room was Orianna the healer and her apprentices, finally rescued... But the room contained more mysteries to uncover. Inside the only remaining intact tome the party found an enigmatic map they knew nothing about. Delivering the missing healer the mayor granted them a letter of recommendation to his elder brother Hama the traveled scholar. And soon the party was on the road...

I also made some Combat stances cards and Situation modifiers cards for our game (we play Earthdawn) so it is much easier to see the bonuses and penalties in combat. The green cards are combat stances and the red ones are situation modifiers. (printed the cards on colored paper and used my excess MTG land cards...

The party had followed the mayor's advice and went on the great Serpent river to meet his brother, Hama the traveled scholar. After couple days of journey the ship anchored at a village that was a known rest for the river merchants. Strangely, no one was on the docks and the whole settlement seemed abandoned. The tskrang sailors and the party searched the village, finding no one, dead or alive. The only clue was a huge snakelike trail that lead to the shore. Immediately the lizardmen sailors boarded their vessel, with fear on their faces. The captain explained that for many months strange disappearances have been happening around this section of the river, missing travelers, ships even whole villages vanished without a trace. Rumors spoke of an ancient river horror called Ubyr, a giant leechlike creature known to devour whole communities. The voyage continued in constant vigil until they arrived at Fort Eidolon. The river fort was overrun with refugees fearing their lives from the horror. Our heroes were unable to find Hama. Almost giving up on their search they found a local tskrang hunter, Shadoo whose brother Vij accompanied the scholar Hama on his search for a legendary lost settlement. Shadoo was wiling for a price, of course, to lead the party there. Journeying through the thick riverside undergrowth for a couple of days they found the tracks of the previous expedition. They followed this lead and the next day they found a camping site. More questions were asked as they found out that Hama's party met up with a crew of a small trading vessel, but both the party and the crew disappeared leaving their possessions in the campsite. The party searched the ship. The storage compartment was flooded and seemed to be blasted in from the outside. The next day, as they continued to search for clues, they found a recently deceased man. He seemed to bled out from his clear cut wounds. The bloody trail led them to a cave opening. The party entered the cave and followed the trail. Inside the cave a strange noise alerted the heroes. They disturbed a group of weird, wormlike creatures, who fought to defend their resting place. Luckily, the blades of the swordmaster and the warrior, and the nethermancers spells were sufficient to repel these beasts. Searching around, Erelon the swordmaster found a bloody clue, that the dead man must have come from a submerged waterway. Their guide, Shadoo, led them through this path and they emerged inside a deep well. They climbed up inside a huge cavern that was clearly an underground plantation. Using his knowledge of alchemy, Lorem the nethermancer recognized some of the plants that were used in making the famous tskrang spices. Skulking on the edges of the plantations they arrived in front of a gate, and they saw that the doors were just shut closed. They opened them... A passageway opened up, revealing three doors. Noise could be heard from the front doors from numerous speakers. The party decided that for now discretion was better part of valor. As the door on the right was unlocked they entered, what was clearly a storage room for the processed spices. As they searched the room, a secret door was found. They entered the passage and on the floor found a bloody stain. Clearly the dead man went through this passage. They were ready to continue down the dark stairwell...

Down the stairs, the party found a concealed entrance into the sewers. They explored their surroundings, searching for the dead mans whereabouts. It was a wast sewer complex with many sideways and dead ends. Clearly it belonged to a big tskrang settlement. And judging from the still flowing sewage material from the pipes, it was still in use... The unfortunate nethermancer soon learned that, when he fell into the sewage, failing his jump over the flow of this foul smelling water. The party wandered into a water collector area, drawn there by the site of broken down bars on the main pipes, when suddenly a group of lightning lizards attacked them, hoping for an easy meal. That was not to be... Although the lizards had crackling electrical armor, and their eyes were capable of discharging lightning, our heroes managed to defeat them, thanks to sharp blades and deadly spells that befell those four legged menaces. Soon, the heroes found an alcove where they managed to rest for a while, and found some intriguing clues about those sewers. There was a message that warned how the tskrang engineers managed to entrap the whole area against the enemy... They searched on and soon found behind a secret entrance a strange metal door, without handles or keyholes. All that Lorem, the nethermancer was able do deduct after a lengthy examination, was that the door was highly magical, and needed a focus of some kind to function as a key, to be unlocked.. Their exploration was hindered by some my stical fungi that released in to the air spores that induced sleeping. Erelon the swordmaster climbed a very old ladder just to spy on the residents of the settlement. Noises of people could be heard, with the occasional whip hitting someones back. Another alcove, and a collapsed wall, revealed a hidden passage that lead upstairs... Upstairs, the party entered the base. Everything seemed abandoned a long time ago, like the residents were abruptly stopped from whatever they were doing and taken away... The whole area seemed eerily quiet, as the heroes searched they realized that they were in the birthing area of the tskrang settlement... Suddenly, they heard noises and smelled the aromas of cooking. The party approached cautiously the source of the sounds and found the kitchen with enslaved people cooking, who were monitored by several guards. They sup rised the guards and quickly dispatched them in the ensuing bloody battle. Luckily the guards failed to raise the alarm, and our heroes overwhelmed them. Soon the cooks were free. A lot of questions waited to be answered...

I love all of this. You've made an incredible amount of terrain here.
When I saw the ship filling with water I exclaimed out load "How Cool!". Fortunately I work alone, or that might have been embarrassing.
