Back in the saddle after two years as a player I started Rise of the Runelords adventure path this weekend with a mix of rookies and veteran players. I introduced 2.5d, gridless play, DM Scottys movement rules and my own variant of D&D-ish rules, so a lot of changes... They were very enthusiastic about the 2.5d, and for the rest of the changes they were cautiously positive. I think I have to fine-tune my D&D variant a bit, but that was to be expected
Anyway, I'm going to post my crafted scenes in this thread. Please jump in with your Rise of the Runelords related crafting if you like! (Or link to previous threads, I know some have posted nice Runelords stuff before)
Spoiler warning - don't follow this thread if you think you will be a player in the Rise of the Runelords adventure path.

Swallowtail festival
Market stands are made of cardboard, with DM Scottys tent technique using towel paper. Popsicle sticks might have looked better for the Woody parts, but I was in a hurry and had cardboard lying around... I decided to skip actual table part to make it easier to place goblins distracted by food under the stands. Worked well, players forgot about one goblin who later ran off with his pockets full of smoked Salmon
For the stage I used a wharf pier and a small ladder.
I experimented a bit with roofs. I found that stripes of a packaging material used for wrapping cups, glasses etc looked like roofing tiles after some painting.

Glassworks I edited the map layout by changing room location a bit, and also simplified the building to make it easier to craft.
Our heroes entered via the customer entrance.
Of course they choose the shortest path, missing most of my crafted rooms
Factory, main battle. I used blood markers for the poor dead factory workers because I have only created one "real" corpse marker yet. I had some tables as well, but seem to have forgotte about them when taking these pictures.
Furnace and minor glass melting stations were made of odd packaging material I had saved. "They might come in handy" I say to my wife when she ask if I really need to store all that cardboard, now I finally have one example of that statement being true... Pipes are made of drinking straws.
For the glass-covered nobleman I simply wrapped cellophane around a mini.
The heroes continued downstairs
They found a battered down brick wall, but choose the locked door and saved the prisoner. Behind the battered down brick wall they found a tunnel system, and secret door to the old smuggler office.
Full glassworks tiles (many rooms without props)

Nice set up! I really like the flame molten glass side of the factory.

Really awesome stuff, Galant. I'm going to have to work in an encounter at a market just to justify making a couple of those kiosks. Cool idea.

Wow... Very impressive crafting. Never seen anything like the factory (concept, or execution). Love the 'glassed' noble -- very creative, nicely executed, and a bit scary! Really Impressed at what you did with the pier -- almost didn't recognize it was corrugated cardboard, as it looked too good to be such simple materials. Thank you for sharing! Cheers!
