I am making some islands for an adventure coming up for my kids' game. They are going to have kind of a modular feel, as they can be connected by bridges for a swamp or archipelago setting. The one this weekend will be in a swamp so they will be forced to follow the bridges (rulers right now). Each island has a spot sized to either have a tree or a bridge on it, so they fit with the modular theme of the week on my worktable. Attachment Deleted ending in the "Stink-ass Tree of Doom" Attachment DeletedIt will set up some great long ranged combat and still have a ton of melee. Should be fun for all. Now to build about a thousand bridges.

Great idea. Love the stink tree! Are you doing a mat for water or something?

great island, and I absolutely love that tree. Thumps up! Thanks. Yea gonna mat it for sure. Its a swamp so I am thinking about burlap and maybe giving it a quick spray paint for color. I think I'm gonna do a series of them, for water, swamp, forest. tundra, etc.

Now that gives me some ideas... I play wargames with plastic Army Men figures. This has me thinking of an island beach landing assault: cheap, easy, and quick -- I get to pick all three!!! Yip-pee!!! I can have a lot of fun with this. Thanks for showing me the way. Cheers!

I play wargames with plastic Army Men figures. I remember reading something about some pretty comprehensive rules for that. It is a ruleset that you made up cause my older kid would love that.

Here is a set of rules for plastic Army Men: Combat Storm. They have some nice downloadable PDF paper buildings for sale, on their site, as well. I've been tempted to buy some of their building sets, as card stock buildings are much easier/faster than scratch-building. Don't know about their rules, however. Cheers!
