I would like tips/tricks on doing shield artwork on 25mm and up miniatures(Reaper,Grenadier, Ral Partha etc). Hand painting that small usually comes out a mess for me trying to do a cool symbol of a dragon for example. This small detail can kick a miniature up a notch. Any advice on handling the kite and round shields be it decals (who makes them and where to get them), printed color art then gluing on ,etc? Thanks.

I personally freehand paint but I saw a video of someone using fingernail decals. You can find them on amazon.

Good tip, thanks! For me, the shield could be 25 inches and I still wouldn't be able to freehand anything worth a damn on it.

I downloaded some shield(?) graphics from GW, years ago, in a PDF file. GW's stuff means nothing to me, except that I like the artwork. I printed them on label paper, then cut, and applied to my mini's shields. You have to be careful how you seal them, though, as the ink will run if you get it wet, typically. I try to only use a spray-on sealer, usually matte clear coat, to protect them.
You could always scan GW or other existing artwork, into your PC You can try to search the Internet for artwork, as well. Once you have it, you can modify it (downsize, or otherwise) to what you want/need. You can also play with some graphics editing software to create your own artwork on your PC. Another source would be fonts: I found, and downloaded, some GW-like fonts, with graphic characters, many years ago. All of these can be printed on your inkjet printer, applied, sealed, and then game with them. Cheers!

Another option is to cut stencils and use a airbrush to paint them. Find a drawing you like in scale on the web lay transparency over it and use a very small solder tip and trace it out. It will stick a bit to the paper but peels off easy enough. I have done this to do quick detailed make up for the haunts. It should work in this scale to but don't use to detailed a image.
