Picked this up at the local hobby store today for $6.99 to augment my undead army. It contains 12 skeletons with 6 unique sculpts, 12 pirates with 6 unique sculpts, 4 cannons, a ladder, chest, sand bag, boat, and 2 wheeled shield walls, a crate and a barrel. The cannons and boat are perfect scale for medium sized D&D minis. The Skeletons and Pirates are perfect scale to represent Large sized miniatures. The skeletons make perfect Giant Skeletons, and 2 of the pirate sculpts look to make great giants. Skeletons with D&D skeleton minis, 3 human minis, and a large troll: The 6 different skeleton sculpts: The pirates: Accessories: Cannons (They can swivel up and down) : I'm extremely impressed with the level of detail on the sculpts and the plastic is fantastic quality. They aren't the cheap Army men soft plastic. They should paint up great. These are also available in a bucket at Toys R Us for $10.99, my local one didn't have any though: www.toysrus.com/buy/science-fiction-fantasy/true-heroes-pirate-bucket-playset-vr4774-10755616 Amazon also carries the bag version: www.amazon.com/Toysmith-Battling-Pirates-Action-Figure/dp/B000RYM2F0 Keep in mind the bag and bucket versions are unpainted despite what the pics show.

I saw those at a Michaels or Hobby Lobby and was tempted to pick them up, but I actually have a ton of skellies already, even giant-sized. There was also a pack of similarly sized zombies with modern military minis too. I'm going to check back after Christmas to see if they have put any remaining stock on sale.

The skeletons could use some cleaning up and a bit of dry brushing but the other pieces are freaking awesome! I'm going to check out my local Michaels this weekend.

They remind me of that other set that a lot of people (including myself) got from Toys R Us.. The set I got, all the creatures and everything are green like this set. They are larger than standard minis which is roughly the size of the ones your got. I will post a pic or two tomorrow of the size difference. I plan to use the Hero figures for statues since they would make awesome "Hero" statues. The set is like $10 and with shipping and tax it comes to roughly $20 for this set. If you are interested in these, here is the toys r us site for them.

Great find! I keep looking at the toy section in my local dollar stores, sometimes I find something I like!

I found those a year ago(?), painted them up for use in my BattleSystem games. Great figures, easy to paint to 'good enough to game with' standard: paint all of the non-bone bits, then apply The Dip, using Royal Walnut (brown, dirty looking), or Tudor (black). Here is a link to my blog page which has photo's, 2/3 down the page, of the finished figures. Cheers!

Sorry these are late, been a busy holiday and everything... Here are a few pics I grabbed with my phone. One of the "Hero" type is on the left and the Orc type is on the right.
