i dont know why , the thumb nail on the video is upside down , when i took the pic it was upside down , but i rotated it in editing before uploading it to YOUTUBE for the video . but for some reason YOUTUBE refuses to upload the edited rotated version and simply uploads the upside down version , so ............
but the video itself IS rotated to show right side up ..............

Ive been eyeballing that game on ebay for awhile, thought it looked fun...never played it. I was also thinking about scaling it up to 1/43 so I can use my builds in the game... lol
have you played it yet? Is it fun? Wondering if I should save pennies for it
thanks for sharing 2

thanks for sharing 2 scaling it up to 1:43 would be problematic just based on the sixe of boards you would need to make and be able to move around . it could probably be scaled up to hotwheels sclae without too much trouble though .
as for fun , ............... im gonna try and buy ANOTHER copy just for the parts so i can pimp out my set to the max . IT IS A BLAST to play !! definitely one of the better games i have bought in all my years !
its simple enough to learn and rope other players into , but even as simple as it is , there is a surprising amount of strategy that can go into the game when you have more players .

One of the guys who frequents a scifi/gaming convention in my area scaled up Car Wars to use 1/24 plastic car model kits! The game was played on the floor of one of the rooms that was available for the con. Not one of the normal gaming rooms, but one of the rooms that they used for discussion boards. I wasn't there when they played, but he said it was a blast. Course, 1/24 scale is pretty big! I used to run/play Car Wars quite a lot back in the 70s, 80s and 90s, but have kind of gotten away from it. We started using the built in scale of the game which was using cardboard chits that were 1 inch scale to 15 feet if I remember correctly. At one point, I scaled it up to use Micro Machines which were about 1 1/2 times the size of the original cardboard chits. I have played a version of it using Matchbox/Hot Wheels cars and that's a lot of fun. I have begun working on my own Matchbox/Hot Wheels scale version of it, which makes it about 3 inch scale and hope to make an arena for this years convention. Got to get a move on it because the con is in October. I've already bought the cars, taken them apart and stripped of the paint. Right now I'm trying to get a hold of weapon bits to add to them. Bought some weapons from BrickArms and like what I got. Also just recently bought a bits bundle off of eBay. I might have enough to do it. Picked up some ' magnetic' paint from HomeDepot and will be using that to prime my game board. Then I'll attach magnets to the cars, figures and any elements that I plan to use in the arena. Plan on starting to build the arena soon.
I'll try and remember to take pictures or video tape it as I build. I keep threatening to video my builds and put them on my YouTube channel, but I've got an old tape camera, so it's not as easy to upload to a computer as the newer digital ones. I plan on buying a new digital camera but so far haven't had the disposable income to do it!

I was googling Car Wars and found this useful guy:
On a related note, Games Workshop had a similar game I guess?
Cool!

I had heard somewhere that Hot Wheels and Matchbox were 3 times, but 2.5 works too! Actually, works better!
