I'm holding all of you accountable for the time and money I'm blowing on Star Wars Legion. I'm loving the new style thats been opened up! I had a ton of cardboard tiles we made on the fly a while back, I was inspired by all that I saw here so I had to do it! Pretty apparent what I used, the domes are from Christmas, and the smaller dome is a little candy package from Japan filled with glue and chunks of material to avoid it getting crushed. Stippled some drywall spackle for a great and super easy result, so easy in fact I immediately started the second house! LOL Fast forward to the 80% complete stage, with doors and pipes to be added and painted and a little highlight of linen or some pale sand color. The backs Here they are on the table with some 40k Orks because I havnt touched the Legion Sprues yet until I get some Fantasy things finished. I hope you like it, I was impressed by the others here presenting their takes on the SW terrain I HAD to do it as well! Cheers and Happy Crafting!!!!!

Looking great, both! Love the way you glued simple stuff on the houses and then spackled over everything, and I wonder how it would look if you prime it in a bright beige/sand color and then give it a brown or black wash over the whole structure... Spackle is one of those underestimated materials, at least for me. I have used it in the past, several times, and achieved quite good results. But somehow I always forget that stuff and then, months later, find a container with stone-hard spackle that has mysteriously dried-out despite the lid being totally tight. I've lost at least three 1litre buckets that way. The way to go would be to use spackle so regularly that it gets used up before it has a chance to dry out...

Thank you!
I did a dark tan with linen so far, definitely going to wash it with something. Almost afraid to in case it makes it too textured, but we’ll see!

You can always repaint it with the original color if you don't like the result. But before you'd repaint it, try giving it an additional drybrush with a brighter color, if only just to see how that looks.

You might want to add some tech looking bits to the pieces. Fans, wires, control panels, and the like.
It is more of what ties it more into the universe.

Absoloutely, I'll add them on after I get the main building done, then weathering. Thinking about a third with a cloth awning like a vendor stall, or second floor. Thank you!

You might want to do it over the matchstick details. Those currently look somewhat out of place for the building style and detract from the rest of the look. You really don't have features like that with the stucco buildings like those for Tattooine because it would likely end up breaking off in reality, and force massive repair work. They are the right positioning for using some of the straw type coffee stirrers or even just use clad wire for post plaster detail work. The larger shapes are great though for it and look right for the planet.

I agree with everything said already. They look pretty amazing. Are you planning to make evaporator tanks, as well? I never understood the whole water farming thing, until last year, when I read a book about Obi Wan living on Tattooine, in his early days there. That book explained the whole water farming concept, and way of life -- after 40 years, it finally made sense!
Keep it up. Looks superb, and it is pretty much instantly recognizable for what it is intended to be. Playing SW-RPG is very tempting, but I don't have enough time for playing my D&D game, and I would end up GM'ing any other RPG pursuits, so...
Was tempted to pull the trigger on Star Trek 2d20 RPG, yesterday, but then I read up on the 2d20 system: opposing d20 rolls, using counters/markers for adding 'favor'(?) to a given die roll, etc... That bubble burst, with an audible, "Pop!" Cheers!

Water Vaporators! I've been loitering around my bitzboxes for just this, but with all the minis I have to paint, I'll likely use a kit.
I know what you mean with the new d20 rules!
I found an old pdf of the 1998 D20 manual, and its nearly identical to DnD 3/3.5e.
I'd like to get the minis done and play this friday(May 4th, star wars day!) or failing that, a pen and paper one shot with the old d20.

Heres my first band of rebel scum I had to force(hehehe) myself to finish these for tonight's game night. The others are primed but I only had a week to paint the whole box! I hit the bases with Agrellan Earth, but I need to do a second coat for big cracks, and obviously paint it then seal them up. I like the colors so close together in tone, its camo afterall, and makes a great contrast against the gleaming white Stormtroopers! I basically base colored all the featured with 3 different browns, dry brushed lightly with a pale cream and glazed them all with Armypainter Deep Tone. MY paint station about 2 am this morning when I gave up... a lot of work still but I know what I'm doing this weekend! Cheers everyone, I hope we all get some good gaming this weekend!

An update, finally! I'm still working on a consistent base, Im going to go with what I did on the walker, sand and glue with Agrellan Earth for the cracks on top, then paint. Hej Ebero's Squad(An d20 SW RPG character) A lot of base work yet for them. Action shot my son helped set up with some new Vaporator scatter First off, my AT-ST is missing its handlebar, so I had to slap one on real quick with a wire and some beads. Its alright for tabletop quality, no one will notice on the table! Thats it so far, Still have the heros, bikes and remaining infantry to go, but thats for this weekend! Cheers everyone and have some fun!
