Hey everyone! I found these russian minis at Amazon and was impressed by the sculpts, and thought to share: Russian minisSo the description says "54mm 1/32 scale" much too large for much, unless you want some giants. I was in the market for Minotaurs, and these would be great IMO! I dont read Cyrillic, but the top there has AB toys, after a google, they do alot of DragonBall Z toys FWIW.

My players have gotten used to scales being not right with monsters...unless I tell them is a giant whatever they just assume is regular sized...too many neat creatures available that are just not the right scale!!

They are about £2 on ebay ( www.ebay.co.uk/sch/u1rick/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_ipg=&_from= ) very much considering picking up a bunch for a simplified skirmish wargame I am creating with the kids - the bigger figures should be easier for them to handle. I'm a little concerned that it says "soft plastic" - if anyone picks them up lets us know how well they take paint.

Nice looking minotaurs. The skeletons look like they would be good giant undead too.

I got a pack of minotaurs yesterday, I have a few opinions and questions for you wise folk. But first heres the pics; Heres the boys with a 25mm Ral partha half painted mage and a 28mm GW Commissar Close up Not bad, especially for a large creature like Minotaurs. The sculpts are nice, but cheap as seen here: He looks like the sloth from Ice Age: One issue is that they are thin; the bodies are wide and thin as seen in the head of the one above. Ive seen this issue in some Ral Partha Bones minis. The second is the plastic is incredibly smooth and seemingly not porous at all, I base coated one with black, and was able to easily rub off the primer, so I took it under the faucet and literally brushed all the paint off it. If you buy these, you’ll need a good primer, like Krylon plastic bonding spray or similar. I cant wait to paint them, they are fantastic otherwise! Trying to ficure out a good base as well, they will definitely need to be pinned to it. Kev! Whats your secret??

Got a whole pile of these ( elves, werewolves, minotaurs, knights, and two different kinds of skeletons ) I've yet to paint the because the kids immediately started playing with them - but my primary concern was about the "soft" plastic - I some in soft some in hard - the soft ones are a *much* harder plastic than bones/wizkids/D&D board game minis. Only the very thinnest of details even comes close to a bones mini in softness. The hard ones are so rigid that I think they may well break before they even bend a little. As the "hard plastic" ones are 2-3 times more expensive, I would definitively go for the soft version.
