After 15 years, started feeling my modeling mojo coming back in late 2015. Currently working on 2 of 3 dioramas, all of which will be in 1/35th scale. Someone on this website suggested using blister packs as molds which turned out to be a great idea....and I have several boxes filled with them now. The 3 dioramas will be called The Fountain, Childhood Lost and The Alley. Of these, figure only The Fountain may be of interest. Used 2 different sour cream lids for the fountains base while the fountain itself is a cut up, plastic wine glass. Measures 6" diameter,6-7" high. One of the larger molds broke on me twice , but this turned out well for me because it REALLY gave the base a worn look and now plan on having a tree growing from one of the cracks, along with a smaller bush or two from the others. Diorama will have tired looking woman sitting on her backpack with her rifle and dog next to her. Original dimensions for this was 14x14 inches, simply too big as all the open space I thought, took attention away from the fountain/woman, so now it's down to 9x9". Took Hirst Arts cobblestone mold, made several copies of it, then made a silicone mold of 4 pieces white glued together. Casting is from plaster of paris. Not sure if I'm posting photos right or not. If not, these and others are on Flickr. Just use 1/35, zombie, apocalypse diorama for your search. Have also taken other moldings from the Hirst Arts molds to make multiple castings in silicone like his brick wall set. As an example, have a mold which allows me to make 3 castings of the long brick wall piece at a time. As to the larger cobblestone street mold, I can now make 2 at a time and it's the same way with the straight edging for the street. In 6 months or less, just finished using 25 pounds of plaster of paris several weeks ago and 2 sets of Smooth On silicone.
