What is the overall effect? Are you thinking attached walls, separate walls, negative space instead of walls? These things will really effect the building stage. It can be much easier if you plan carefully.

Ive been working on casting Hirst Arts tiles and I finally have enough for a few encounters. Heres a mock up of a room after I had tons of castings finished. The color variations were me adding paint into the plaster mix just to test it out. Here is the finished room, tiles are 3"x2" not counting walls, the center is several 2"x2" tiles based on foam board. Theres some prep work to get started but once you start casting, you can have 2 or more batches a day.

Great work! I forget how nice the hirst arts pieces can look when you do them right. For mine, I've been using a combination of foamcore floors with hirst arts walls and other things. This is before I made stands for my archways. Pesky spiders...

I was working on modular tiles using Hirst Arts about 15 years ago with 1 block high walls, but stopped going in that direction due to the production time of casting the blocks. I'll need to find the piece I had done and take some pictures of it and post them.
I had used magnets in my prototypes so that I would be able to remove a section of wall and replace it with a door or other part that I might need at that moment. Never occurred to me to go with some kind of clip on parts.

Hirst Arts molds look amazing they're cheap but I don't know about shipping costs and mold times...
Does anyone knows where those molds are shipping from?

But is it really worth it? I mean..They look cool..but The foam or cardoard is a lot easier and quiker...(and cheap)
I actualy checked their site and my mind was blown from how many mold they were available to build all kinds of stuff

Thats where I'm at, I will use both in degrees.
They are heavier, but pretty tough and dont warp.
Foamboard and cardboard; I cut my teeth with that(figure of speech) and its free.
It comes down to the players in the end though, and if they dont notice and appreciate it, then you have your answer I suppose.
I do it for me :-)

I think that the "desert/Egyptian" mold will work great as desert buildings and temples or ruins..
(I'm not trying molding for one reasson I want to try my own ideas first!)

You could always make molds of your own tiles!

One other thing I'm coming to appreciate more and more about the 2.5" tiles is the fact that they fit in a pretty standard trading card storage box for storage and transport. And those stack well enough on their own on a shelf...
Some of the larger tiles I'd done in the past or some of the very special ones for specific things tend to be a nightmare to keep if you plan on using them again. They end up crushed, bent, twisted, or otherwise destroyed far to often, and that's without the space required for them...not to mention organization issues...

I own quite a few Hirst Arts molds and there are plasters out there that set much faster. I use a plaster called Merlin's Magic. It is very strong and can be de-molded in about 15 minutes. You can read about it here. Also as was previously said, it doesn't warp, it's heavier than cardboard and it's pretty resilient. A negative for it is that you have a problem with the tiles not lining up as well, like Wyloch talks about in his video for the 2 1/2 inch tile. But if you're okay with that, it really does make fantastic looking tiles and you can make the height of the walls whatever you want, unlike systems like Dwarven Forge. Don't get me wrong, I have bought quite a few sets of Dwarven Forge through their kickstarters, but I'm not to keen on the wall height and the fact that the walls intrude on the floor tiles.
