Hello! Spent last night looking at the awesome builds that others have posted, and signed up this morning. I play with my kids and some of their friends, we started when they were teenagers and has just become our "weekend off" thing to do over the years. Gets them home twice a month anyway. We started off with Heroquest, and added DND elements as we outgrew it. All our campaigns are homebrew and I make all our boards and terrain, so finding DM Scotty and his 2.5 boards really added to our game!
Our current campaign started in a small unremarkable town next to a monastery. When darkness falls on the town, demons haunt the alleyways and kill any who are out of doors. The townsfolk are scared and rather ignorant of why this is happening. The lone demon the pcs managed to destroy turned to an angel once it's Hp were exhausted. When the players venture to the monastery, they find it almost deserted except for an eccentric priest who seems a bit "off", until they explore the lower levels. There they find a tunnel leading outside, which led them to a rocky ravine scattered with dead angels. There are goblin caves on the side, and in the distance a belltower. As one of my players is always itching for a fight, I am figuring they will go for the caves. The sneaky goblins have stolen the bell clapper, which the players must find, and restore to the belltower. Once the bell rings, it calls home the angels, which have been turned to demons by the witchlord who is posing as the weird priest they met in the monastery. Hopefully they will figure out the witchlord is the source of the evil from the clues I have scattered throughout the game...otherwise they are looking at a serious brawl with the demons lol...and I will have to do some winging it and bring the witchlord out of the monastery and to them...
Off to the craft table...my monastery and outdoor scenes are done, but I haven't started on the goblin caves yet.
I was wondering how everyone stores their terrain? I seem to end up with tons of quest-specific pieces which i hate to throw away, but after years of playing I have too much just sitting around collecting dust...
