HobbyLinc If you don't mind using 1:72 scale instead of 28mm these guys have some decent prices. There is difference in size but not as bad as say an action figure (3 inch). They have an OK/decent selection of fantasy and a mondo selection of military sets (from ancient to modern). Also good for "odd ball" stuff like cowboys and Indians, ancient Egyptians, and Zulu warriors. If you go to the link you'll see that these guys come on spures and get a few different poses. Zombies, Orcs, Dwarfs get about 40 for $15. The prices are a few bucks cheaper than what I have seen on other sites and on Amazon. My main complaint is the FedEx shipping. I should have pics coming next weekend to show the sculpts and poses.

I got some of the Zombies, Indians, Dwarfs and some WWI minis.....
If you don't mind the slight difference in scale it's a good deal especially if you're having lots of extra in play.

A list of scale model sizes can be found here and here. The second link is more useful in this discussion. 25mm minis are roughly 1:76 28mm minis are roughly 1:64 32mm minis are roughly 1:58 So 1:72 is a little shorter than a standard 28mm mini. Not that big of a problem. Should be Good for Shorter races (Goblins, Halflings, Dwarves, etc). Browsing through their site, if you are needing Giants or other large creatures, they have (1:32 Scale): BarbariansRoman Legionnaires Arctic AnimalsAntarctic AnimalsJungle AnimalsWar-Elephant with Driver

yeah, still not all that bad. Friend of mine used to make doll house stuff and some of those doll house people wanted panes of glass to scale. I was telling him that for gaming a lot of people are more worried about a good representation.
The 20mm to Heroclix (28mm Heroic) is a lot better than minis next to lego figs or using a GI or star wars figure.
I've been thinking of running Weird War I and Weird War II games so the military ones are good for me.
Hehehe, if I could find some old ladies I'd be set.... new game I posted about (Gramma World).

Wasn't quite sure what scale 1:72 was. Now I know I use mostly 25mm for Frostgrave but got a bunch of minis with DnD board games that are 1:64 scale. I use 1:64 scale with Frostgrave as well. So it seems like 1:72 scale is perfect as it is inbetween the two I already have no problems using. I am now going to look their site carefully Thanks for the link(s)

Caesar makes a set of 1/72 Elves, 35 figures for around $15, delivered, out of either Ukraine, or Hong Kong. If you like your Elves to be proportioned as Gygax had them in the 1e MM, they are perfect with 28mm Humans -- they're around 4-1/2 feet tall. There are quite a number of 1/72 plastic fantasy figures available: Caesar (Elves, Dwarves, Rat Men, Zombies, Goblins, and Orcs), Dark Alliance/Light Alliance (Dwarves, Elves, Undead Humans, Orcs, Half-Orcs, Orc Warg Riders, and Half-Orc Warg Riders), and others. Search e-Bay for the best prices, usually from Ukraine and Hong Kong, around $15/set, delivered, usually around 35 figures per set. I use the Orc Warg Riders as Goblins, as they pretty much match the Caesar Goblins in size, and are similar enough in style -- at arm's length, especially if you paint them the same color scheme. Cheers!
