Thought I would start a thread to share a few of the minis I have painted. I do not paint as much as I *want* to, I have issues with my hands and Minears Disease (which causes tinnitus and vertigo) and sometimes that prevents me from doing such tiny detailed work. Anyways here are a couple of my most recent ones (the earlier stuff is HORRID compared *laughs*) Magnes Magnesun (my husbands Mage) Magnes was my first attempt at Off Source Lighting (Have also seen it called reflective lighting). I can most definitely see where improvements need to be made but it was overall a good learning experience. Bane (A raptor mount and his rider done for my sister Jinxx) I named this guy Bane (Im not sure what Jinxx is gonna actually name him) because this guy became such a pain in my arse to finish. Painting the rider triggered vertigo (*still* cant figure out why). I do not play warhammer, but I *love* the games workshop pieces. I usually buy a kit and break them down to what I want to paint and trade/sell anything left over. For the most part (unless I am working on a character for someone) I just paint what looks like it will be fun to paint. These are the only two I have for right now. I plan to just use this thread to show off others as they become finished. Thank you for checkin em out! *Edit because I can't spell to save my life*

Beautiful work.... GW has some absolutely beautiful kits... I just hate how bloody expensive they are. Anyhow, Your work is quite stunning, I can't wait to see more of it! Thanks for sharing And I fully understand not being able to paint as much as you'd like thanks to ones body not cooperating....It can be extremely frustrating. You do have quite the talent for iy and I hope you do more.

Bane is just for my collection of painted minis and his name will remain the same. Looking forward to adding more of your painted minis to my collection too!

very nice...
I think I know what kicks in the vertigo, I have noticed that sometimes when I am painting, and I am concentrating hard to what I am doing over everything else I tend to phase the world out around me. When I snap back to get more paint to get a drink or something like that the world sort of snaps back into place. Going from staring at something tiny like a miniature that you are painting to a wide open room throws off the equilibrium a bit. At least, that is what I think causes it from time to time... Could be something different.

Could be something different. I think you hit the nail on the head. I never thought of it much because Bane was the first time it had happened. I have another raptor started for Jinxx but have been putting off doing the rider cause Im a little nervous about a repeat performance *laughs* When you noticed it happening, have you been able to figure out how to make it stop? Now when I paint I make sure I get medicated about a half hour prior to painting. So far *knock on wood* it has not happened again.

Quite often I end up buying a set for one or two figures and have a few left over that end up just gathering dust. I always prep them all (put them together and do the seam work) pretty much straight out the box that way as the muse calls they are ready to go.

So far the only thing standing in the way of your next raptor is getting the rider done. I used some things I learned from DM Scottys videos when i did the base work on it and was able to get the effect I originally wanted with Banes base. I will go battery shopping on pay day so watch for your smexy gals pix after Thursday!

Thank you all for the wonderful compliments! It means a lot coming for you! I admire the work that everyone on here does so much! Painting is my Serenity! It does not matter if its a mini, a model horse, a terrain piece, a chunk of slate or a wall.

Very nice, and great examples of both a muted and vibrant color palette. The detail really pops with your color selection. I keep looking back at the images, and each time, it's really the color selection that stands out as the focus of the painting. Great job!

I usually blink a couple of times and find one thing to focus on, such as my computer monitor or a door. If that doesn't work I close my eyes and take a couple deep breaths and it goes away. basically you just need something to orientate yourself on which end is up.

Wow, excellent painting. The level of detail you have achieved on the clothing and face kinda blows my mind.
