Hey crafters I saw this on Kickstarter today, and curious about thoughts and reactions from those of you more experienced with the 3D printing world

It won't be a $49 price tag, based on what I saw. You also couldn't do quality mini's, but it just proves the profit margins on most 3-D printers today. For example, the XZY junior printer costs about $100 total including shipping and replacement parts because the printer has so many problems from people not knowing what they are doing. They sell it for $350 although the price has dropped to around $280. They also make additional profit based on proprietary filament that you must use. I wouldn't support it with all the drops in prices occurring every month and the technology changes occurring as well. I would save for something around $500 here in the next 4 or 5 months that can do very detailed prints.

49$ was for the first few people who pledged, the retail price is going to be 99$ for the non designer version. they are looking at a price range of 150$ give or take for the designer version. making this pretty much the same price as any other 3D printing machine of that size.
i'm pretty sure it ws worth it if you were lucky to be int he 49$ range, but if you weren't then 100$ by todays standard can get you soemthing bigger.
