The author (not me!) shows how he modified his Hot Glue Gun to issue very small amounts of Hot Glue, by installing a needle used to inflate balls (footballs, basketballs, etc.). It does require a Tap to install threads into the nose of your Hot Glue Gun, but the end result is quite neat. I suspect that the needle may need to be cut shorter, due to heat losses, but that is a minor point -- which I might be totally wrong about! I hope to try this myself, but it will likely be a while. If anyone does make this mod, please come back and share what your experience was like. Cheers!

the wire is there to make sure the glue stays hot even in the nozzle.... it may not be attached, but its heat dispersion is what makes it usefull. the ball i wonder... but there must be a reason. what i find weird in this video. is that it makes those thigns pass as if they weren'T needed in the first place and was placed there because they could without any reasons whatsoever.
i hate these videos. its like the guy who said peel off the foil on your phone battery, thats the GPS he said. and basically everybody around him believed him on the spot.
the idea is quite sound though and i really like it, but i think the gun must of clogged itself really easily and that it must be taking more time to heat it up for it to work.

The only major issue I can see with it is that with the nozzle length, well, that would be a downright pain in the rear to clear out after it cools down.

I just read on another glue gun package that the ball bearing is for "glue control". Claims to keep the excess from leaking out the tip. I assume the ball is also heated and acts as a gate to keep the glue from just pouring out. link

I might just give it a try, the next time I see a glue gun at the Dollar Store.

I might just give it a try, the next time I see a glue gun at the Dollar Store. I stopped at the 99 cent store after seeing this. I went to buy one of their glue guns to try it. I noticed that the gun was only 10 watts. I decided to hold off and look at converting a Walmart special in stead as they are more powerful. You could have issues or at least a long heat up time with a 10 watt gun and the long tip. if you convert one of the cheaper units, please post results. Thanks

even if you dont. the 10watt guns i never recommend. i used to use that one and the glue just seemed never to hold out long before drying even if the gun was heated up at maximum. ever since i am useing my new 20 watt all those glue problems were solved. 10 watt definitely is not enough to do much.
