Space, the final frontier... These are the adventures of Andy from MadLad Designs... His ongoing mission, to create strange new games... to seek out new materials and new ways of doing things.. to boldly create like he's never created before. For those of you who want to create a galactic playboard, here's how I did mine (WIP) for a board game I'm creating. Here's what it looks like so far (the playing card is just for scale): Close Up: (Yes, all those 'stars' are individually created dots by tapping the pen on the board.) Here's what I used: - Either A3 foamcore board or A3 cardboard
- Matt black spray - Rust-oleum Painter's Touch Multi-Purpose Paint
- Silver and / or gold gel pen
- Something to draw around (hence the Memoir '44 tile)
It's pretty easy (but painstaking) to do: - Spray the board black
- Cover the board by draw around the template
- Spend a loooooong time 'dotting' the entire board to make it look "spacey". Add a few swirls, galaxies & blobs to make it look different.
And that's it. Put your favourite music / video on and set to work. It looks impressive (despite my over-exposed photos!) and you'll have a 'galaxy map' to play on. Have Fun.

Great map! Reminds me of Spelljammer's strategic map.
