Hey there! So for the past few weeks I've been working on a modular cave system, as my upcoming campaign will have a fair amount of cave-crawling going on, and I like the idea of being able to 'freestyle' some caves if need-be. Note that this isn't the final product, but rather the beginnings of my 'base' system. I have plans to make numerous other tiles, larger tiles, more oddly shaped tiles, 'negative space' tiles (think chasms), etc. They are made by making a 6x6 square out of 1-inch pink foam. I have a Jig i've made to cut these easily. I roll an aluminum foil ball around on the 'base' tile for texture. I then 'carve' the caves out of another square (or scraps, size permitting) and then glue-sandwich a blank square and a carved section. Hopefully the pictures will explain this. I then add glue, aquatic sand, and some rocks, then base-coat and dry-brush. It's pretty straightforward, and I believe I can make about 4 an hour, presuming I'm making a few hours worth at a time. Let's get on with the pictures, then! Let me know if you have any questions on any of the process, etc. Here's a 'complete' little cave/dungeon with my current tiles: And here's some pics detailing the process: I also made a number of little 1x1 and 1x2 rubble and stalagmite tiles, to spruce up the rooms, add Line of Sight, etc. I also plan on making more of these to include mushrooms, lichen, moss, etc. And some more close up shots of the caves with minis, etc: Anyway, hope you enjoy!

giant blocks, i could love that. i hate cramped stuff though, i'd make the walls a tad less imposing. i love this better then the 2x2 squares i've seen around. great work there they look awesome.

Thanks! All of the cave 'halls' and connector areas are 2 inches (10 feet), which is intentional. Caves are often pretty cramped in real life

Nice work! Thanks for sharing! That shot with the fire elemental reminds me of a campaign I ran a few years ago. Good memories.
