I was planning on making my players small inspiration die holders but then saw DM Scotty's version and went with it instead of my original idea. It was a fun project and took about 6 hours total for all of them. I actually didn't get them finished in time for Christmas but that's OK since all of my players wont be together until this coming up Wednesday so they are none the wiser! Full AlbumSorry for some of the cruddy shots with the camera phone. Feel free to ask questions if you want.

Nice execution. Love the dragons, and griffon. Did you source them from the Toob's line, available at Michael's? Cheers!

The merman had a bent spear that I couldn't straighten up so he was left out. Honestly, I was originally bummed out by the mermaid when it was in the tube/toob (it was up top behind the label) but I think it turned out really well. The unicorn was another that surprised me how well it turned out. Really, not a bad one in the bunch once they got converted into statues. The pictures made the statues look a bit darker than what they really are. Here is a link to the Toob I purchased for the statues.

Howdy, a bent spear that I couldn't straighten Heat gun should do the trick. Kev! Yeah, I thought about doing that but since I only needed 6 I figures I would just chalk it up as a loss. I might salvage it and make a statue out of it at some point but that can wait since I have had a huge stack of 2.5D walls sitting in my desk to finish up and paint for about 6 months now.

Sublime, how did you prep the minis to paint? did you strip off the old paint or just spray them with black spray paint?

Sublime, how did you prep the minis to paint? did you strip off the old paint or just spray them with black spray paint? Nothing special really. I gave them a wash and scrub with soap and then a layer of Applebarrel paint (black) at full thickness to make sure i completely cover up the old paint. After that I touched them up any small spots with my Vallejo black and did some dry brushing with the Applebarrel grey. I then did a super thin wash of Vallejo black to pop it out since I got heavy handed with the grey in spots. I finished it off with via brush for the "moss/vines" using an old thinned out fan brush.
