Hey Crafters!
I've finally decided to end my lurking and begin joining in on the posting! I have been a gamer for two decades and didn't have any care for miniatures in the game, that is until I discovered DMScotty's youtube channel almost a year ago. The day I found his channel was the day I watched youtube videos for 4 hours straight... I couldn't stop! Every time he'd begin a new step of a project I'd find myself saying "Awww, that's not gonna look right. He should have left it like it... Dang! That looks insanely good!!!". His channel lead me on to find other channels like The DMGinfo who has also inspired me greatly. Then about 4 months ago I found this forum and everyone's crafts here have continued to motivate me to craft and get better and look at everything I'd have normally tossed in the trash in a whole new light. So thank you! Thank you everyone for bringing out the long lost crafter in me!
Now then, onto the other purpose of this post. A little while back I had watched every video and hunted down every picture of tree designs people have made. There are a lot of amazing designs! I struggled to decide which design to use. Then, I rediscovered in my supply box a 15 year old package of Party Streamers. I knew immediately I had to use it because of the texture, and I quickly began crafting.
I'm not sure if anyone else has used Party Streamers for this purpose as I could not locate anything mentioning it. I'm likely not the first, but I wanted to show my results. At the time of creating them I was going to go step by step with pictures, but this is all new to me and I kept forgetting stages. Sorry!
I went with short bases to keep visibility on the table but still provide the illusion of a tree. I really like how they turned out!
Supplies:
Party Streamers! (most important imo)
Paper towel rolls (could also just use rolled card stock or anything else really)
Card stock
Card board
Hot glue
Construction sand
Paint
Pictures here! (Hope you like them and let me know if this link doesn't work.)
