While the transfer to the new & improved PC is moving slowly along, I thought I'd add some closeups of Rapunzel's Twisted Tower just in case. The Tower & the adjoining Used Armor & Weapons Shop are ready for paint & base work...including an eerie vine encircling the place. The window inserts give an idea of the nature of The Tower: ...as the preliminary work on the vine: ...lower & upper entrances: ...the roof ...with a look at the Stork's Nest: ... AND Rapunzel's Used Armor & Weapons Shop: I'm either going to include the Tower & Shop as a cul de sac down an alley from the central Urban Blight Board or a separate woodsy site...suggestions & opinions will be taken into the consideration mix. Next I'll bring you up to date on the Blight with two completed upper stories....one still needing paint...depending on PC progress or lack thereof.

I'm loving the irregular look of this stuff. Thanks, danceswithhippos. The twisted look is an ongoing thing with the Blight & most of the things I've done over the last few years. I'm glad you enjoy it.

Since I haven't mentioned it before, the eyes on the side of the rounded building are brilliant! They way they leer at passersby must unnerve more then a few citizens of this kooky town.

Thanks once more for the kind reply AND for steering me to DM Scotty's Forum. At the risk of repeating myself, I am glad you like the stuff & took the time to say so...it is appreciated. The Bead Eyes do have a tendency to follow the viewer around which adds to the creepy effect. I've had a couple of Folk on different Fora comment that the Mushrooms, Trees, & Faces give them nightmares...there is Madness amidst the Whimsy. I'm planning on trying the 2.5 Technique for the interiors & maybe the sewers/catacombs/caverns. Making terrain for RPG/Skirmish Games is MUCH MORE satisfying than doing terrain for conventional war games.

Love this build...the look, the contrast of colors, and all the weird society prostitutes (what's the going rate in shrooms ) lol. Fantastic job and this is my favorite of your creations so far. Thanks for sharing your "WONDERLAND STYLE".

Thanks, dragon722. I'm glad you like the stuff...the faerie Tale/Labyrinth theme just happened without much though...most things I do of late are done sans thinking; it does eliminate the burning smell. If the new PC cooperates, I'll have more photos up tomorrow. I may even start a thread or two over in the Miniatures Section.

I like that simile...glad you like The Project thus far. Since you are enjoying it, here is the second, now-ready-for-some-paint building in The Blight: ...side with The Eye: ...The Eye: ...the Front with a window detail: ...The Owl Shack: ...The Owl with Leprechaun Rider & a candidate for Snow White, Crime Lord: I'm rushing the post to get it in before another crash. Hope you enjoyed it...more nextime.

@spielmeisterkev!: Thanks for the reply. I don't think The Girl has to worry about drowning. She's an Enigma mini that I had long wanted to get, but just never got up the nerve to drop the $s for her. Then I spotted her & a Twisted Enigma Dwarf at a Modeling Show in Austin & parted with $25 for the two. When I checked to see whether or not I had gotten ripped, I found the two of them were O.O.P...lucked out for a change.

Hadn't gotten around to checking the thread in a while, and you go and add a bundle of photos. That'll teach me. The color section of the blight looks amazing. (I was going to make as 'nice knockers' joke, but decided to show some class instead.) The faces on the doors have always been a favorite element of your builds. The wanted posters work so well in this environment. And the leaning buildings with leaning furniture is an inspired idea. I love it all.

Awesomeness abounds, whenever I open this thread... Love the latest pics! You know what would really scare me as a player? That the left door on this pic has a knocker but is to be locked from outside! What's been kept inside that must not come out? *gulp*

Thanks for the replies, Guys...the morale boost is appreciated. I am delighted you both like the way The Project is developing. tauster: actually the rings were meant to be pull rings; i.e., a simple form of door knob. The bolt is partly to keep The Owl in his/her roost AND partly to give the unwary a moment to consider whether or not entering the shack is such a good idea. I found new inspiration for the next variety of Mushroom. This is a 1:1 scale piece from Industria Mechanika: ...cool,eh?

SO I have the first two Prototype Industria Mechanika Inspired Mushrooms sculpted & ready for some paint. One done & one underway: ... AND both done: I think the Guys will get on famously with the Dark Hold Goblins...or not.

Those wanted posters are some of the coolest things I have ever seen. They are nothing short of a brilliant concept. I also love the mechanika mushroom heads. There is something about the way you sculpt faces... I can't quite put my finger on it, but there is a fantastical whimsy nature about them I just is just perfect. I would love to see a tutorial on how you do it. Over all, this is amazing work.

The faces, mushrooms, & the odd tree are about the extent of my sculpting thus far. If I can figure out how to do it, I will try to put up more detailed instruction on sculpting the faces.

I love your stuff. It's so reminiscent of Brian Froud and his amazing worlds. I can totally see the goblins from the move Labyrinth patrolling the streets of your urban blight board. I totally dig your stuff.
