Awesome book making! I remember when AD&D came out with their mini books. I thought they were so cool, but I could afford them at the time. I may have to do this. Thanks for the vid.
TMNT was the first game I ever GMed. I ran it for several years and had a blast doing it. For set pieces: anything modern. Streets, buildings, parks, cars, roof tops, etc.

I do this for my boat adventures. since my boat as multiple decks. if you have the place, you can build the streets at one point and just aside it, put the rooftops. that way when one goes from point A in the streets, you place it on point A on the roof. but that requires double the surface of play. because every floors has its place on the map.
aside from that, a second table above the first... say the city below is the street, and your players would have about 2 feet high to play on it, if you have low walls that is. and on the table above the first, you have the roof tops . the whole thing would be like 5 foot high and requires you to have some kind of low table. then again that would be better for sewer and city views.
as for the mold, it looks good. i dont see much toruble from this point of vie. and it makes me want to mold a lot of my figurines instead of buying more.

When I was gathering ideas for my sewer tiles I came across an aweomse looking set up. It was a street level view, but you could remove the road pieces and it opened up into the sewers. When I find it I'll post a pic. I feel like you could do something really fantastic with this.

the advantages of having higher walls though is that if there are miniatuires above and below, you can simply stack them without touching the miniatures.

well, considering im never using my whole table to show stuff up, i'd still not do this... i admit it would be uber cool to be able to have 3D terrain. but my table would never be large enough to play a whole block like that. so i'd just blown view the thing on my table. but im really interested still to see how you'd achieve that kind of stuff. cause it might be usefull for my boats though.

So I was looking at some 3d multi leveled buildings and had some thoughts. OK so you have your buildings frame done at this point for this example. You could maybe cut some slots into the frame which will allow each floor to slide in and out. I was thinking maybe two layers of foam board glued together with the bottom piece being slightly larger to fit into each groove on the frame. Just an idea i have been trying to work on myself. I'm not sure if this complicates other thoughts you had planned for.

I was trying to come up with an idea so you could make like 6-10 buildings. The buildings wall or walls could be on a tab system as well being removable for inside viewing when the group suddenly goes in a building you weren't expecting. After you slide out one of the outer walls you will have access to the floor tile tabs allowing you to insert whatever modular rooms you need on the fly. I'm not sure my first post was very clear on what exactly I was trying to say haha. Hope this cleared it up. Otherwise your plan sounds solid.
Edit: I guess what I'm trying to say is the building will all be hollow until you need them not to be. That way for your key buildings you could already lay the floor tiles in so all you have to do is remove the walls and roof when they enter.

Modularity of buildings is a must for this kind of project. so its a given. i like both systems.

Of course, some of you have probably already seen my latest video, a sort of showcase of my newly found book binding skills, and noticed my choice of books to bind: The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles & Other Strangeness core rule book. I had never read this before, and a buddy of mine had this in a bin. As a TMNT fan (grew up with the 80's cartoon), i gave it a read. Lots of potential for future Mutants and Masterminds campaign for me. I ordered TMNT miniatures on the net (2012 My Busy Book: TMNT and 80's Dark Horse Miniatures) but couldn't find 2 of my favorite, Bebop and Rocksteady. So I crafted them both. I'll post them in the miniature gallery today, if you want to see them. Thanks for sharing the turtle love

Something you might find useful is some of Mantic's Mars Attacks figures. The human soldiers wouldn't fit, but a lot of the civilians seem like they'd fit the universe and work rather well.

i really need to try playing one of these at some point. me loves some super heroes so i might go for that. I played a bit of mutants and masterminds for a while and it's plenty of fun! You should give it a try. I've found all four turtles as a build for character creation on the atomic think tank, M&M Blog

One thing that might improve the look of the sidewalks would be to run a knife between each segment of it followed by a flat head screwdriver.

Really nice. The two parts I keep looking at are the wheels and the weld supports for picking the thing up by the sides. Even the working lid is pretty cool to hide baddies and objectives.

Yeah, that thing is pretty freakin awesome. Add a couple of black trash bags and it will be out of this world! Excellent job!
