I for one am impressed. The work your putting into this door is fantastic, A++ and exalted! What kind of card stock did you use, I want to start crafting these!

I know this is a bit unrelated, but if that door were to be actually made, I would load up the teeth that fit into the bottom most slots with ball bearings sufficient enough to bear the doors weight (if possible). That would make it possible to slide out into the channel.
Alternatively you can load the slots that the teeth fit into with rollers.
Otherwise sliding that bitch into and ouy of the closed position would be a bitch..

To be honest, mechanism in crafting has been really really basics since making difficult mechanism has been next to impossible. now you are trying to mimick a game animation that had next to no real life parts to take into consideration because it was a game and the devleoppers decided to foget a few details. i say forget about the mechanism entirely. just do this by hand like you already do.
its already a piece of art by itself and really well made. adding mechniasm is just added sugar ont he icing thats already sugar coated.

Amazing video! Love the pointing hand - great detail. I pity anyone who attempts this without a die cutting machine
