so in my campaign the PC's will eventualy run into this overgrown ancient temple to these dinosaurs. i cant seam to get any ideas on what to do for this temple/dungeon, all i know is that in this dungeon they will find a magic stone which will help them further in the campaign so they can use this portal made by the ancients...anyone have any ideas?

1- Level appropriate Kobolds continue to worship their reptilian gods here. Lizardmen, Troglodytes or others might fit just as well.
2- The temple opens a portal to the valley of the Surials from 2e era fame. Once here they can find help from the Surials on finding the stone.
3- I would use this as an excuse to have some reason one or more of the party was turned into a humanoid dino (see Surials).
4- Dino temple magic portal opens with a stone. I am totally picturing "Land of the Lost" sliestacs.
5- Warring tribes who live in the surrounding jungle both claim the dino gods as their own. The ruined temple is the "no man's land." They have warbands moving through all the time hunting for each other, infidel PCs are just another sacrilege to punish.
6- There is no idea 6
7- 1 or 2 stone age magic items. I love handing out magic items that break the standard aesthetic of characters; such as Paladin in shining armor wielding stone age spear.
8- The stone opens (and also closes) portals. If they need to open the portal elsewhere what monstrous abomination does it seal in the temple that removing it will unleash? Dragon, T-rex, Terrasque DOH!
9- The fun with jungle ruins as a dungeon is that whole sections of the temple could be burried in the mud, lost in bogs, hidden in the roots of the trees. Rather than having a single dungeon that is a wandering maze like complex this would be a few rooms survived here and there separated by overgrown jungle. So you can craft some really cool locations and not have to worry about doors, hallways and how they work together all you have to do is create eye candy jungle clearings or ruins with great vines growing in the stones. Sometimes dungeons run together. All grey stone psuedo-European catacombs. This is way out of that motif so go as far from it as you can.
10- Find a jungle temple module and steal the puppy.

Those are great ideas! I thought also about a guardian like a Tyrannosaurus that can be summoned by the Lizardmen or Kobolds because they worship them. and the pcs while scouring through the ruins may find a Broken horn of a triceratops that was fashioned to be a horn to summon it (was made by the ancient ones that lived in the temple), they dont need it to progress but it would make for a great encounter i think. two huge creatures locked in combat while the players must battle the lizardmen/kobolds to get to the portal.

Depending upon what exactly you mean by a dinosaur themed adventure, there are a few interesting options for a more pulp type feel. I'm assuming the 3.5 or Pathfinder stuff, which this will largely be a few things from something I'd done a while back.
For settings, an island, isolated cliff lined valley, or something similar that contained it...something like the Marvel Savage Lands where its a big area in volcanically warmed valleys in the middle of the arctic is a great way to force players to prepare ahead for survival situations either way...it also easily explains away the dinosaurs if you don't use them very often in why they're still there.
The neanderthals have a pretty good option for use from Frostburn as a local native tribe for the players to deal with, if you have the Expedition to Castle Ravenloft book, there is the sacrificial stone described in it that is in the "extra" areas to explore inside and under the castle, it's a rather interesting side piece to keep the players involved with it's resurrection 1/character ability. You might also consider utilizing Ur from Weapons of Legacy...
The stone the players are looking for could easily be important to the locals, something that would make for an instant hook to either "steal and run" or "Help replace it with something else (like perhaps that stone from the Castle repurposed into a lost temple here)" could easily be that the locals have found a way to utilize it's magical powers to keep the larger predators away from the village. Anything larger than a compy/needletooth can't get past the magically enhanced barricades lining the village, of course the villagers still need to head into the jungle for supplies and hunting, but the village itself is safe.
Add jungles and ancient ruins, and you have a good basic setup for the adventure with them finding and gaining the trust of the locals, then dealing with how they get the stone...and find out about the stone that can bring people back to life...and then getting out of the entire mess alive.

I actually kinda took the zelda road on this one. I even stole the forest temple lift idea from ocarina of time with a mid boss and what-not.
I had the whole dinosaur themed island and temple thing. everything on the island was either reptillian or plant. Or both in the case of my homebrewed Venusaur whom I named Titania and spelled some lore in the temple labeling Titania as the mother all the Island's Inhabitants. Anyways, so the party was fighting raptors and lizardmen, and battlebriars, and even dragons around every turn. Finally at the end they found an emrald the size of a grown man's fist. I never told them what it was for but I actually planned on it being an EXTREMELY important piece of decore that if removed from the pedastal it sat on would dispell a seal to the nine hells of baator. They never found out because before the seal would brake they had to track down 4 other gems. They only collected a total of 2 before we stopped playing.
But hey, there's an idea you could steal, sorry I know it wasn't very original but hey, I totally ran a whole bunch of steven spielberg stuff on that island. Along with some indiana jones stuff too. (was that spielberg? I don't remember)

You might want to checkout X1 The Isle of Dread. The Ankylosaur eating loco weed and the pteranodon encounters would work great in your setting

I'm not sure whether or not you are going to build some terrain for this. If you are look out for the plastic dino skulls and skeleton toys. These would be of great use in a temple or shrine.

Recently my pirate PCs running through a Pathfinder AP Skulls & Shackles. I sent them on a side quest to ruins in the jungle the side quest killed 2 birds with one stone. My intent was that some previous pirates buried treasure in a well with in the ruins (complete with a mimic disguised as a well and a gelatinous cube in the well shaft). I described the location as within an extensive ruined city. Oops! After completing my planned adventure they expressed a desire to explore (loot) THE REST OF THE CITY. I looked into the Serpent's Skull AP There are several jungle ruins in the course of the AP I am hitting on the City of Seven Spears chapter of the AP.
