Hat tip to dodobot for the idea and inspiration. I went camping last week and there was a Dollar General nearby. We stopped on a supply run and lo and behold they had the Giant Creepy Spider (tm). I bought 4. Here are two converted to driders. I ended up pinning them because I'm very tough on my minis. I'm also using epoxy to hold the parts together. I'm waiting for them to dry right now. Paint to come. PS: the True Legends sets are on sale at Toys R Us .com fro $9.98. Good deal. Lots to like in this box of bits...

I'm predicting that these will be deliciously evil.

Very nice. Someone asked me why I left the spider mouth bits on there. I think it looks perfectly natural.
Good on you for doing two at a time. The true legends bucket is a great product for the price, every kid (or kid at heart) should have one. The terrain it comes with is great, it just has so much utility. Nature world puts out some really detailed yet affordable critters. I am only too happy to buy their stuff.
I can't wait to see the finished product.

I like the mouth parts there too. The more horrific the drider, the better. I agree about the bucket. The ruined walls, pillars, dais (?) and bridge will all end up in my game sometime. I think their "orcs" (or whatever) will make perfectly serviceable bugbears. Good stuff.

Nice job. The spiders look really hairy!
RE: the eyes. They look fine, kind of like they are possessed or something. Blank eyes are pretty spooky.

Here's a pic of the size difference between a Wizards drider and one of the dodobot variety. No comparison. For the doubters out there, it should be noted that she has her "front legs/arms/feelers/whatever."
