Awhile back, keysorkardboard created an amazing room -- here it is -- dmscraft.proboards.com/thread/631/letter-puzzle-dungeon-crossingI was immediately inspired, but I just couldn't commit to one set of runes! About a month or so ago, I was eating pizza at a friend's house on PLASTIC PLATES! I think they were Chinet or similar. I took four of the plates we were done with and washed them up. I made a double-thick 12" square tile and I spray painted it black. I marked off the L-shaped corners and I tiled them up using a sponge. Using a square punch (1.5" I think) I punched squares out of the plastic plates. I wanted their shapes to be more random, so I cut them with scissors. I drew a 1" square so I could roughly compare their size. Here's the tile with "runes" drawn on with a wet-erase marker. I think there are 29 spots. I wanted the tiles to be somewhat orderly, but not a rigid pattern. I also wanted a variety of paths. I didn't do walls on the tile; that's my new default for my game. Here it is in play. And here it is all wiped off. It's OK if they smudge a little; they were a little too clean to begin with anyway. A big thanks to keysorkardboard for the inspiration!!
