My pet projects right now are Shadowsea and Deepwars, skirmish wargames by Antimatter Games. i found the craft by looking for inspiration for underground scenery, and I intend to put the stuff I make on here! first up, stalagmites:

Ooooh! I really like how you did those. It looks like they are covered in dead vines.

Fantastique! Those look good. Just imagine walking around in a dark cave peering around every one hoping something else isn't there.

Just built a prototype 2.5d rooftop for a chase scene. I do have some 3d buildings but the roofs are too steep for minis. The peak of the roof is about a centimetre and there is a shallow drop to the edges. i was going to make six of these but they are a bit labour intensive so I'll probably stick with just three. Chimney still to

That looks really nice. Is it just gray painted card stock?

Hasn't been painted yet! Just the box my glue gun came in mounted on a house tile base. There are two strips of corrugated cardboard down the centre of the base to add height.

That roof is exactly what I need to be working on next. My campaign centers around a massive city, and the Geomorph, tiles, or other building attempts have not been what I am after. I'm aiming for 2.5D, urban, and modular. Your 2.5D roof is a proof of concept for me that is perfect for me to move forward with some of my other ideas. Thank you for posting it!

Awesome idea with the roof. Looks great, and like you said, much more playable.
I made a roof like this for a 3d building, and it did take a while. I used white glue though, so I didn't have to worry about burning fingers. Bit of advice I picked up from Kamloopian, dab a bit of white glue on a tooth pick to pick up the tiles with, then you can just apply a line of glue and stick them down. Especially useful if you're using real small pieces, but maybe not so much with hot glue.

Very nice. I have some geomorph city tiles, but I find the walls too thin on them.. I need to beef them up and elevate the features, 2.5D style.. lots of fiddly cutting and pasting, but at least now I know exactly what to do for rooftops!

I'd recommend using PVA (White) Glue for the tiles: no heat required; if applied thinly, it will adhere within 1-2 seconds; less expensive to use. Just a thought. Cheers!

Great looking shingles! I use cereal box cut into strips then cut out each shingle, not really taking care to make sure they are uniform, just get them close to the same size. Then I use a quick dry white glue to attach them. Goes pretty quickly and looks fantastic when painted. I've got to find the last roof I did and take a picture of it.
Oh and I came up with the technique after watching the Kamloopian's video.
