great start dude. Have been thinking of making these small creatures myself on numerous bases. I was going to try maybe 4 or 5 per base since they are not that big of creatures. Three might work though looking at yours.

Cool idea. I like your wings. I have to try to make (more) miniatures myself.
I really have a other problem with stirges. I think I would like them if they arent so....unrealistic? I mean, really. I have a bloodsucking large monster sitting at my leg or arm. It cant really move because the damn thing has pinned himself to my arm/leg. So I smash it! All reallife bloodsuckers are stealthy. Its easy to smash them when they pinned themself, if you notice it. But im not really a D&D player so maybe I miss something. :-)

You get a bunch of them attacking you (or the whole party) and three of them hit. Now (at low levels) you only get one attack.... so... You kill one, but the other two suck a little more blood. Maybe another one hits you. You kill another one, the other two hurt you a little more. Then you kill another. Are you still alive? What about that poor mage that doesn't have a STR bonus? What about the fighter who forgot to buy a dagger or knife and only has that 2H Sword? It's the swarm effect. If you use enough of them, they can be truly terrifying...

I love these creepy little dudes! Those eyes... I can just imagine these swarming - never wavering, relentless, frantic with blood-lust, but single-minded, intent, their eyes wide...

from the original posts...
Logically they work as well as any moskitoes. sorry but a beehive attacking you isn't stealthy at all. the fact remains that usually small creatures do not attack bigger creatures. but these, attacks in flocks... huge flocks... you'll never see a single stirge attacking, you will always see them attacking by 8-12 at once. sure one stirge doesn'T hit much... but 12 attached to that one body of you... good luck surviving. its the same with goblins and gnolls or even kobolds... none of them will attack a group of 4 alone. that would be suicide. they work in flocks.
the price of the original mini is warranted by the fact that you dont get them anymore, wizards stops marketting or selling boosters when the new set comes out, and there is two every years. thats why the minis from wizards are cool and warranted to be bought because you know there price will vary yes, but only very little. basically a piece you bought 20 will still cost 20 or more 10 years from now.
now onto the stirges, yeah they are well done. i like the 3 on a base. but i would of made them at different height. not too high but still not on par to each others.

I've seen many beginner modules where you see single stirges. Even one is a fright. If it should attach itself onto a character, then you see the player getting kind of frantic trying to get it off before taking too much damage over time. They do make you think outside the box in terms of combat. What would you be more afraid of? That stirge attached to your arm or that barbarian with the 2 hander and with low intelligence in your party that only sees the stirge and not the arm (yours) that it has attached itself to.
One idea I had would be to try and make a stirge without the base and add some wire underneath it, simulating limbs. Once a stirge attaches itself to a character, you could "pin" that stirge onto said mini.
