Wanted to share a method for getting a pretty cool paint effect for caverns, etc. I used this on DM Scotty's toilet paper roll stalagmites. It was very hard to get a decent picture, as the paint has a sheen to it. Process: I base coated with a very dark chocolate brown, then moderately painted with metallic bronze paint. After that, I did a wash with a very pale green, similar to the green patina found on copper. The wash tones the metallic effect down, but a sheen still comes through in the thinly washed areas. Adding a glossy clear coat gives the stalagmites a wet cavern look. The pale green color I mixed up is pretty close to the lower right swatch in this image (25-30 year):

I really like the smaller stalagmites, next to the taller ones. I have not done that on mine -- yet... Love the colors, the textures, love it all. Well done! Thanks for sharing your ideas with us. Cheers!
