To start I *really* dig the doors. Space games and Sci-Fi generally aren't my genre though.
So I was wondering how to adapt these doors to something more Fantasy. I totally understand that in Fantasy the doors generally hinge inward, but I think I'm more interested in having a stable and consistent door representation that is functional, modular, and aesthetically pleasing.
The biggest thing I think that needs altering from this door type is the frame. Anyone have some good ideas to make it work?

Just painting the frame like wood and removing some of the details would go a long way to changing this up. I would make the exterior frame very similar to my "openable", door vid.

Alot of the details for those frames are there to produce extra integrity from what I saw. That seems to have been your intent (Besides having really cool Air Lock doors) anyways, but I may be wrong.
I guess to be a little bit more specific on what I'm trying for (Since the modification is probably alot more simple than I am letting myself believe), I guess I am trying to maintain the integrity given by having those cardstock triangles, while giving it a basic "Stone Wall, Wooden Door" Medieval look. Is there a way to simulate a Masoned Stone Wall effect very simply in a similar manner to give it that corner point integrity WITHOUT imposing an odd look to the door (ie, having doors that look Air Lock-y but are painted to replicate a stone texture)?
Again, I may be over complicating the matter (As I sometimes tend to do, especially on really small details that alot of people don't seem to care so much about).
Perhaps the shaping of the doorway makes a difference too, as Gothic Arches can create some significant structural integrity, and I can reinforce using the Keystone of the Arch. The problem here is that the Door Slide In may have to be put in from the side rather than the top...
Hmm, I'll have to brainstorm on it more I guess...

I think the doors could work for particular subsets of fantasy, such as clockwork, dwarven crafted doors or even magically activated secret doors. Just paint them differently.
